Green screen showing me a controller..when i load the 360 console nothing else

i have the xbox 360 slim..i bought it refurbished from gamestop..when i plugged it in there was no ring around the system power button..however there was a green light. then it shows me a green screen with a controller pointing on the guide button..and nothing
else

Stuck at Controller screen on setup

I turned on my xbox one for the first time and it loads past the green xbox screen and to a screen where there is a black controller that has a pulsating white "x" symbol. From there I can do nothing and it has been sitting for over an hour.

I am able to turn on the console with my controller but that is all. Stuck at the first controller screen.

Help?

Console Not Reading Controller After Booting Up

For Some strange reason my controller is not connecting with my 360 console

The green lights on the front of my 360 also do not come on.

I cannot cut my console on from the wireless controller like usual, but I can cut it on from the controller using the plug and play kit while connected to my controller.

But when the console actual starts up and the 360 logo comes up on the screen the controller cuts off and it won't respond to the console.

My console just sits on the dashboard screen, I am not able to browse through the dashboard or anything because my controller cannot connect.

The green light on my power supply is on. I've tried remove all hardware, nothing is working.

Nothing is the disk drive.

Anyone have any advice? Help would be appreciated.

I think your 360 is telling you it can't detect your controller. Try hitting the little button on top of your controller. It's located between the LT and RT buttons right next to the recharge plug in.

Also , there is a button on the front of the console next to the USB slot.

Ah, nice save Paraffin. I've never actually had to try and sync a controller, and didn't even realize there was a button for that on the console itself as well.

Im having the exact same problem when i turn on my xbox. first off when it turns on there is about a ten minute delay until i get to the green loading screen. once i get to the green loading screen nothing else happens, not even my kinect is powering on.
ive let it stay on that screen for a max of 2 hours. i would appreciate it if someone could help me out.

I’m having same issue have done this twice now only thing that will show after the green start up screen is black

When I press and hold home on controller it takes me to a screen that says what do you want to do

Turn off controller

Turn off console

Or restart console

That is it other then that black screen

Have reset

And changed HDMI cable

Have held the bottoms down

Have unplugged

I have done steps exactly as you have said and still nothing but black screen out side of start up green screen with Xbox logo and when I press home on controller
