    Green Screen of Death? (Need Help)


    So here's the thing. I've had my Xbox since April of 2015. It has worked so smoothly and I've got to say, it's one of the best purchases I've ever made (I'm 17). This all went along just fine until today, the 10th of October, 2016.

    Basically, I got the "Green Screen of Death". It's been at the initial start-up screen for about 2 hours now. I've tried the factory reset and it hasn't worked. Maybe there's an error with how the flash drive is formatted, dunno.

    Can anyone please help me out? What do I do, I haven't found anything online yet that could guide me to the rejuvenation of my source of joy in this dang world.

    Just wanted to add that if that above troubleshooting doesn't help, we do have a wizard on the site about this here on

    “I need help with system updates on my Xbox One”

    Give that a look through as it should be able to help if you are having any kind of start up issue.

    The previously posted troubleshooting is also in there as well.

    To clarify, did you download the OSU1 onto your flashdrive for the fix? Unfortunately if you followed all the steps in
    This Troubleshooter, a repair/replacement is going to be your best option. Be sure you've downloaded the correct Offline Update.

    I bought it January 2nd this year from Amazon.com I didn't purchase a warranty, but are you saying that the console comes with a one year warranty from Microsoft no matter who you buy it from as long as it's new? If so that's great news as I should have
    a month left and I will definitely look into that, but how would I do this? Through Amazon or Microsoft? sorry about going off I'm just really frustrated right now.

    Oh! The site will also tell you how much time is left on your warranty also. The nice thing about Amazon is you can look up when you purchased it and download the receipt also.
