Green dots/lines appearing on xbox one s on gaming monitors only but fine on tv

I am having an issue whereby green dots/lines appear on the screen when connecting my xbox one s to gaming monitors (mine and my sons, the monitors are different brands as well) as in the picture below

Green dots/lines appearing on xbox one s on gaming monitors only but fine on tv [IMG]

i have tried 6 different hdmi cables, also a hdmi to dvi cable and the issue still occurs. I have done a hard reset by holding the power and eject buttons and the display doesnt have green dots when displaying 640x480 as below

However then when changing the setting to 720p or 1080p then the dots and lines re-appear. My sons xbox one works fine on both the monitors with the same cables I am trying to use.

When plugged into a number of tv's this issue doesnt appear but I am wanting to use it on a gaming monitor.

Looking up it seems that a number of others have this issue with the xbox one s and I was wondering if its a hardware fault or if there is anything i can do to fix this. I have looked at the guides on xbox support in regards to changing colour depth etc
and none of these make a difference.

    Thanks

    :)

Xbox one s will not work with 4K pic monitors constant screen flickering

I read online and more than just me are having this issue. I like to game on monitors . I have two 4K monitors and when I enable 4 k on my Xbox one s my monitors flicker and blink on and off. Why is this happening and why hasn't it been fixed ? Defeats the
whole purpose of having an Xbox one s if you cannot use the 4K features on my 4K monitors. When will this be fixed ??????? The Xbox one s works fine with my 4K tv , but not my monitors . This needs to be resolved.

  3. Red dots show up on monitor connected to my Xbox One X Scorpio

I started up my Xbox one X yesterday on my 4k tv and it wouldn't work. I tried s few different hdmi cables with no luck. Decided to transfer my X to the monitor that my Xbox one S is connected to. When I started the system up it worked just fine but they're
hundreds of red dots appearing everywhere. Its most bad on dark screens. I tried hard resetting it by holding the power button for 10 seconds with no luck. Can anyone help me out?

Hey there, can you give us more info on what is going on? Please give us monitor make/models and which make/models of Xbox's you are currently using with them. Are you using the same HDMI cables between the TV and the monitors or are they using another cable
or any kind of adapters in conjunction with the monitor that isn't being used on the TV?

Green lines and dot on my monitor screen

I tried by connecting my Xbox to the TV in the same room and the lines and dots did not appear there. I think it has to do with the HDMI cable or maybe the monitor.

    Xbox one s won't display 1080p

So i moved my xbox one s to a different tv for a few days and i hooked it back up to my acer monitor, ever since then it just will not display 1080p it works fine on 720 but not on 1080 ive reset the whole system, turned it on and off, played around
with the settings. It will either flash the screen, show green pixelated dots, or blatantly not display i have no idea on what may have happened it was literally fine right before i moved it back up.
What model is the acer is it a 1080 monitor or is it in 1080 mode

Green lines and dot on my monitor screen

    Hi there

When connecting my Xbox to the TV I used a different HDMI cable, does this mean that the problem could still be within the cable? And would it be a good idea to try using a different HDMI cable to see if it is the monitor that has the issue?
Image artifacts like those green lines and pixels are usually a sign that the data transfer between console and display gets corrupted.

This can be caused by a faulty cable, or simply if the cable isn't seated in the plug properly or if the contacts on the cable or the display are corroded.

Since changing the cable should be a simple task, I do recommend changing the cable to your monitor with a known working cable. Or maybe it's just that the cable wriggled it's way out of the monitor plug a bit, and doesn't get good contact.

You might try to unplug the cable from the monitor as well, and properly plug it in again, making sure there is no dirt or corrosion on the plug.

If the pixels still appear, then it might be that the cable has a broken lead or something. Just replace the whole cable then.

If it still appears glitchy, it might be that the input plug on your monitor is defective, since your console seems to work properly on other displays.

possibly your HDMI cable is failing test with another and of course on another screen also if possible
