One way to be 100% sure that you can be heard via your own headset is to send a voice message to someone.

Record one and then listen to it before you send it. If you get nothing but quiet then you know something is wrong with the headset and can go back to the retailer you bought it from and get them to replace it.

If you CAN hear the message you recorded then you know your stuff is working fine.

Try entering party chat via Kinect. It displays that you're communicating via kinect in the party chat menu.

Then try plugging in your headset. You should see the chat connection type switch in the chat menu. When you speak... if it's working right... then the green circle next to your name will light up as you speak.

You can not party chat with 360 users. You can send them text messages, but not voice messages. You also can not open voice messages received from a 360 user on the Xbox One.

To start off, please try power cycling your console by holding down the power button on the console for 10 seconds, leaving it off for 30-60 seconds, then power it back on. I see that you already posted your NAT type is Moderate (thanks for that!)

If power cycling the console doesn't resolve the issue, please start a party but don't invite any of your friends to it and unmute your mic. When you unmute your mic in a party by yourself, talk, and see if the green circle lights up when you talk. Please
also see if you can talk to a friend and hear them in game chat. We also want to try to send a voice message to a friend and see if you can send it. Play it back to yourself and see if you can hear yourself. Also, what headset are you trying to use?

Hi, i cheked for the network, and the NAT type say Open. For the green light i see it when im in a party, and when i speak i see the green circle light darker so im guessing the system is earing my voice, but why noboby can ear me. For tryong reseting the
game, tell me please how to do that, but i dont think its the problem cause whatever the game im playing, Titaifall, COD Ghost, BF4, its not wotking. I still have my xbox 360 and my son is playing with it, do you think it may be because my account is still

I am having the same issue. I own a Day One Edition Xbox One. The chat feauture will work if I use the kinect to do so, but I have a difficult time hearing the chat over the game sound as well. I have both the original headset that came with the One as
well as just recently purchased the Turtle Beach XO One headset with stereo adapter. I plugged in the new headset and updated the controller as requested. My NAT shows open, but when I attempt to chat with other party members, either I can't hear them (even
though I can see the green circle next to their name lighting up indicating they are talking), or they can hear me (even though the green circle next to my name illuminates each time I speak). I have tried disabling the mic on the kinect for chat, doing hard
restarts of both my console and gateway, but the universal fix for it is to unplug my headset from the controller and utilize the kinect. Not ideal for me. This problem has surfaced while playing both Madden 15 and Destiny. Need a fix ASAP!
