Green boxes in checkerboard pattern in bg of games

Hey I was wondering if anyone knows this issue where the background of series s/x optimized game has green boxes in a checkerboard pattern.

It appears in other series x/s games as well just more apparent in halo infinite. I have a series s.

This issue is usually due to the display settings on the TV/Monitor you're playing on.

First turn off HDR on your console and see if that makes sense a difference

- Power up your console.

- Hit the Xbox button on the controller.

- Choose “Power and System.

- ”Navigate to “Settings” and choose “General.

- ”Select “TV and Display Options,” and head to “Video Modes.

- ”Check or uncheck the “Auto HDR” option to turn it on or off.

If that makes a difference then you'll need to go into your TVs display settings and tweak it a bit (Refer to your device manual or manufacturer's website).

turning off auto HDR did not appear to change anything and the green boxes persist. The recommended settings for HDR for my tv were applied as well.

On a 1920x1080 display connected with VGA, and the Xbox 360 set to 1920x1080 output, clock and phase can be adjusted with the AVS HD 709 1-pixel checkerboard pattern (Misc Patterns / D - Resolution / Checkerboard Pattern). This can be done by the auto adjustment
in the display. It's only valid for that resolution though. For resolutions other than 1920x1080, it won't work.

VGA can look great, but there is no reason to use it if HDMI or DVI-D is available. The problem with levels on the Xbox 360 affects output over all types of connection anyway, since it's in how it handles input values.

I was seeing the same thing, could just see a checkerboard pattern but if you tried to start it would show the load screen with the map picture and then give a weird error.

You sir, are a man with great taste. It's weird. That shouldn't happen. Try redownloading the game and clearing your cache? Try it without the HDD? If your games are installed to HDD or use any form of storage that storage cache may have had a funky time
and corrupted. It's hard to say. GPU issues usually cause the console to crash with the lovely checkerboard pattern.
