    Xbox does not care about customer care not only that they lie and cheat you out of your money. Got a defective xbox day one, when I called well they said I would get a brand new one. I was thinking finally xbox is coming through for me a customer that
    spends $1000's a year on xbox, then I got my "new" system and to my surprise it had a service sticker on it I was thinking that's not right they must have messed up the order.... Nope they told me after I phoned you are not guaranteed a new unit well I was
    told I was to get a new unit so not only was I lied to I was not going to get what I was told. It seems they do not cover there words as much as they do not cover there units because after I tried explaining why it was a big deal they would not do a thing
    about it and after speaking to a very rude unprofessional supervisor still nothing happened and I was hung up on now how can they allow that I just don't get it I don't see how if the unit I received breaks down in 5 months because of something they did wrong
    I'm out a system but they don't care about that only your money so I'm expected to have to buy a new system every year unless I buy a extended warrantee so I'm sorry I was going to collage at the time and didn't have the money to get the extended warrantee
    as well but I spent what money I had on a product I thought I could trust . I'm just saying I was told I was to get a new system I did not so I was lied to and then I was not given any answers when I called so not only do they not back there product they don't
    educate they people working enough to give the right answers. So I am switching to ps4 when I can afford it as list time my ps3 broke down under warrantee I received a brand new one so they can have my $1000's a year because they seem to care a bit more. Also
    the gesture of appreciation the one month of xbox live well that's only worth $5 that's how much they appreciate our business. Thank you for reading and I hope you realize the same thing I did today, oh and they charge 420 for a refurbished system how's that
    for a ripoff.

    Im in Canada, they replaced mine last week with a BRAND spanking new one, I bought a defective one from best buy a couple of weeks ago.

    A couple things: MS/Xbox doesn't offer an extended warranty... at least, not to my knowledge. Those warranties are offered by Best Buy/Amazon/etc.

    Lastly, and correct me if I'm reading this right... you are complaining about something that hasn't actually happened yet, right?

  7. Everything but the referb breaking has happened which is enough to show a bad tend the being lied to as well and being hung up on them not being able to grantee things or ancwer any of my questions and a theory is still valid with a referb as well as a new
    unit but the fact I was lied to is what really *** me off.

    It would have been a lot easier for folk to understand if your original post just contained the basic facts.

    It was the same with the 360. If you returned it to Microsoft you received a repaired unit as a replacement.

    If you would have returned it to the store you originally bought it from (presuming they do a standard 12 month guarantee as is law here in the UK) you would have received a new unit as a replacement.

    Paraffin Alien - That is awesome that you get 12 month guarantee on your purchases there. Here in America the standard is normally around 30 days (some stores less - some more).

    OP - That is pretty common practice to provide a refurbished system as a replacement. I understand being upset if you were indeed told it would be brand new though.

    Unfortunately there is not much (or any) margin on hardware for a lot of companies so it would be hard for companies to ship a new unit. From what I can tell the other big two have the same policy.

    Yep, UK law for most stuff is 12 months warranty, and if your in most european countries it is 2 years warranty, I would still have took it back to the shop you bought it from and demanded a replacement, even in America or not.

    i have to leave my comment , 100% true. Xbox one I guess is selling refurbished ones to Walmart, because I bought a brand new one there and they wouldn't return it because I didn't have the box and the Microsoft told me to that it was bought as brand new
    but unfortunately it in fact was. Refurbished unit. So a representative sent me to Walmart store and told me to that they wanted to talk to the manager on my cell phone I might add, To exchange my unit with a brand new unit. Well guess what Microsoft talked
    to manager and said that they would not.i called Microsoft back and still nothing has been resolved. Can you help me on what to do. I mean isn't this fraud . From Microsoft and Walmart selling brand new units at new price and they Microsoft in fact told me
    because they checked my serial number and told me it was in fact refurbished unit . I bought m unit at the Walmart store in Gettysburg,pa.

    Sorry you are having that issue. It does however take a couple days, sometimes a week to gain access to the beta forums. So just give it time and keep checking back. If it has been over a week then I would contact support about
    it.
