i hope u all like how much of a lie this update really is for background muisc u live anywhere but U.S., Australia and New Zealand ur not getting background music unless u pay for grooves so great lie guys good job giving us the finger

Not gonna lie, the thread title scared the *** out of me. Games looks great though

 

I haven't tried it because I don't see the point playing music over my games. However if what you say is true that's a big bag a BS.

Maybe it's not available in other places yet, but in time it will be? I wouldn't grab your torches and pitchforks just yet.

 

It was never said it would be available everywhere straight away.

More ways to use background music will be added in the future,including more apps or using your own music from a usb device.

Maybe do a bit of research before going on a rant next time.

 

I agree with brand on the background music while playing a game.... how could one be playing Doom with John Denver or Simon and Garfunkle playing away?

For me,it's already a problem when i can't turn off in game music (Halo).....Videogames aren't movies.

So,background music is useless for me.

I only like (and understand why it's here) music when it comes from a car radio (GTA) or some street musicians (Witcher 3) but doesn't makes sense when music comes from nowhere.(just to copy movies).

Microsoft has kind of being biased especially towards NZ not releasing cortana and voice commands was excluded in NZ until months later. However.... Xbox 360 can do this simple music feature and I dont even have to change my country locale either to do it.

 

I have this thang called a stereo that I play music on when I feel like gaming and listening to music.

I also have this thang called a tablet that I play the youtubes and put my beats headphones on when it's too late to pump the music.

You haven't had this feature for years now, I'm sure you can wait a little longer for it to come, spilt milk and all that.

 

I do not care for the feature as I think it's ignorant to replace a game's soundtrack with your own music.

However it is something they did promise.

Why people are trying to defend the fact that they promised it and have not delivered is a reflection of how out of touch with Modern Gaming the remnants of the XBox Forums are.

While I appreciate that if you really enjoy something it can be annoying to have people come and make very sweeping statements about how your "thing" has failed to live up to it's promises in terms of Music it is entirely reasonable that when they promised
"Yeah, we'll put it so you can listen to music in game" that they would have something that worked like the 360 where you could listen to any track you liked.

There's a saying: "Once bitten... twice shy". You don't need me to explain that if you get stiffed once... you're going to find it harder to trust the person or organisation that stiffed you a second time.

However we've been stiffed in so many ways this generation that hopefully Microsoft and it's partners will hopefully start to feel the pinch.

It was getting out of hand and people were starting to get fed up last gen and it's gotten worse not better.

I've never used background music in many games, but it's definitely a nice touch with a game like Rocket League where there's absolutely no reason you need to hear the sound. The first thing I do after firing up my PS4 is to start a playlist.

Yea, I have plenty of other devices to play music with, but it's either nowhere near as convenient or crappy speaker quality compared to my setup.

 

What are your actually referring to Az with being shafted this generation? MS have been working pretty hard to deliver console updates to improve the experience for users and implemented many things that users have requested. Badger says this is coming
as originally stated so what's the problem? The One is a different console from when it was released due to the continual updates and improvements I fail to see anyone being "shafted"

 

Pressuring gamers to buy digital by only including the full versions as a digital package and charging a higher price.

Smashing up titles into jigsaw sized pieces and selling them in bits so that you'll pay more than full game price if you want to own the whole thing like with "Killer Instinct" and "Dead Or Alive 5: Last round".

Locking content behind a paywall like they do with every EA sports title and have now extended to "HALO 5" and are about to extend to "Gears Of War 4", giving players the option of either paying for "Req Packs" or grinding as supporting cast cannon fodder
for ages.

Using Backwards Compatibility as a selling point but then not releasing any games people actually want to play.

Telling people sure you can play your background music in game if you want to and not mentioning that you're going to have to pay extra to do this.

Creating a "futureproof" game console that is "built to last the next 10 years" and then releasing the "Scorpio".

That would be a good summary.

To their credit Microsoft have been pretty quick to deliver console updates and make things easier to access because if people are stupid enough to accept all of the above then you need to give them every opportunity possible to part with their cash.
