    Gray HDMI specification

Does anyone know which HDMI specification this
    gray cable
    is?

I would assume it came out before the black, but can't find specifications on it anywhere, therefore don't know if it supports 30/36/48 bit colors, "deep color". I know it has to be 1.2, 1.3, or 1.4, but unlikely 1.4.

It's the only spare HDMI I have lying around that I could use for other equipment.

    :)

What is a better choice? 1080p or 1680x1050?

I am trying to find out what is the best setting to run my Xbox on. When I connect my monitor with an HDMI cable it gives me the options to select 1080p or 1680x1050. What is the best setting? My monitor is 24" with a True Resolution: WUXGA
1920X1200. I have tried both settings and the 1080p setting is full screen and the 1680x1050 setting has black bars on the top and bottom but im not sure which setting has a better picture.

What do you think I should choose?

Here is the Monitor model# and specifications....

    ASUS MK241H 24" monitor.

    Panel Size: 24“ Wide Screen

    Color Staturation 92%(NTSC)

    True Resolution: WUXGA 1920X1200

    Pixel Pitch: 0.270mm

    Brightness(Max): 450 cd/㎡

Contrast Ratio (Max.): 3000 :1 (ASCR)

    Display Color: 16.7M

    Viewing Angle (CR≧10): 170°(H)/160°(V)

    Response Time: 2 ms (Gray-to-Gray)

  3. 4K issue with my TV

In order for a game to be displayed in 4K, the HDMI input that the Xbox is plugged into must support the HDMI 2.0 specification, meaning it must support 4K/60Hz (2160p/60Hz). HDMI 1.4 specification supports up to 2160p/30Hz, which the Xbox One X will not
utilize (and instead will use 1080p/60Hz). Some 4K problems can be fixed by checking the TV's own settings menus.

TCL TVs (as far as I know) have an option to configure which HDMI version it should use with the connected device, which can be found in the "TV Input" settings. Set it to "HDMI 2.0". Check your manual for the exact steps.

HDMI & HDCP need a stable Data Stream to keep the Handshake & smooth playback on any supported device... If the Pixel Clock Rate, (which determines Data Throughput/Bandwidth), is interrupted, you Will have HDMI/HDCP issues..

Seeing how it's been stated multiple times, that an Xbox 360 is running, HDMI v1.2 @ 165MHz & the TV is running HDMI v1.3/v1.4 @ 340MHz, it can cause issues with HDCP or HDMI in General..

The Pixel Clock Rate controls the speed at which the Data stream is Digitally Encoded/Decoded etc..

It's only "Gibberish" to someone, who has no bloody idea about it...

Elaborate, on how you think a HDMI Interface works on a Receiving Device, IceStorm III... I've been through all this before with you months ago, when you & your mates, ganged up & decided to get me suspended..

Shall we give you some time, to do your research..???

I've seen artifacts present when switching sources before, but never for more than a moment or two. I'd say that there's an issue with either the console or the TV if the black lines last for more than 2 seconds and/or you need to power cycle the display
to get them to go away. Since you said that you do not have issues with switching to the Blu-ray player source, it would seem that the problem lies with the Xbox.

I'll reiterate what I said earlier, if your console is under warranty I would call Xbox support at 1-800-4MY-XBOX and see what they have to say on the matter.

yea but it doesnt make sense to blame the tv when it handshakes fine with other devices.
