Grand Theft Auto IV (Steam) Problem

I cannot sign in with my windows live profile to save my progress in GTA IV.Every time i tried to enter my cd key from steam, it said my cd key is invalid.

So i browse in google and found some solution like this.

1. Go to Xbox.com and sign in with your Microsoft Account
2. Go to My Account
3. Click Redeem Code
4. Enter the code that Steam provided for GTA IV
5. Once that is successful, launch Games for Windows Live application and go to downloads
   
6. Select GTA IV and choose to view the key
7. Enter that key in GTA IV

I already redeem my code at xbox.com,but when i log in using Games For Windows Live i cannot see my games.It said " There was an error retrieving your purchase history.Please sign out and try again later. ".

So my question is where i can see my cd key for GTA IV so i can use it for my windows live profile?

PC - Steam: Grand Theft Auto IV Fatal Error (Windows Vista: Need to have service pack 1 or higher to proceed) Fixed!

If you get this message when opening "Grand Theft Auto IV" from steam, and you don't know what to do, then follow these instructions:

Go to \Steam\steamapps\common\grand theft auto iv\GTA IV

Find the "LaunchGTAIV" and right click on it

Choose "Properties" and then "Compatibility Mode"

Tick the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select your system

Apply it and you're done

exact same issue as op. This is so frustrating. Also when i try to live chat to get this resolved i cant enter a first and last name because the fields dont allow input and yet it tells me i have to enter a first and last name...

I'm having the exactly same issue. And when i tried to contact microsoft's br support (my country's support) they said it's a windows problem, not xbox's problem.... after i call some 3 times they say it's steam's problem and then rockstar's problem....
but how can it be?... I'll never ever again buy another game like this one... and like the @XarcAwesome i cant enter a first and last name because the fields doesnt allow me to input it and yet it tells me i have to enter a first and last name... Anyone could
help please? We've BOUGHT the game, not begged for it... and i can't save my progress untill i have this serial number....

 

Ah, and i got it to input my name and last name in my GC android's browser. But for some reason, after i submit my request, nothing appears...

 

Same problem here, waiting for a solution. Tried everything on the internet, but nothing works. As Faaln2808 said, we BOUGHT the game, PAID FOR IT. With a pirate game I'm sure there would be no problem, so please solve this or don't ever complain about pirate
