GoW4 special editon Xbox one S Wi-Fi connection issues

I orginally owned the orginal Xbox one console..and had no issues with my Wi-Fi connection..until i decided to make my Gears Xb1s my gaming console as i used it at a friend's house to watch Netflix from time to time. It now sits in the same spot as my orginal
console did. And when i game..for hours... Ill occasionlly lose connection..whether its.. 2 minute increments... Or i can go hrs without an issue. When it does lose connection my laptop which is next to me is still connected to the internet and i can browse
the web. Where as i have to resart my console to connect to xbl in most cases.. In another post they said use..a Ethernet cord..where as that doesnt present the same problem as wireless.. Running a 50ft cord across the house with animals that love to chew
isnt a viable option.it seems to be an issue with the wireless connection of the xbox one S nwtwork card.

Xbox Live and hotel Wi-Fi via Ethernet?

I need to find a way to connect my Xbox 360 to the Wi-Fi at hotels, considering I go to one almost every month. I have a game review due by thursday and I need to get this internet working. The issue is, hotels usually take you to a website where you have to log in on a website to connect to the Wi-Fi. This makes the Xbox Live connection impossible if you're doing it through Wi-Fi....

But what if I logged into the Wi-Fi on my laptop and connected my Xbox 360 to the laptop via Ethernet Cable. I have Windows 7 so I'm guessing there's some Microsoft internet sharing option that's compatible with other Microsoft products.... right?

Anybody having Wi-Fi issues with Comcast while playing Xbox One will be glad to know Comcast is working on it. Microsoft is working with them to get ahold on what's causing the issue.

the only thing that really changes is my download speed

if I'm connected on by Ethernet everything is the same...minus the wireless strength

 

Thanks for the info! Let's try to see if the wireless issues are tied to the gateway you're using or the Xbox One console by setting up DMZ on your router, which would allow your Xbox One console to connect to Xbox Live outside of your router's firewall.
Use our
Xbox One Disconnection Troubleshooter and skip all the way to steps 7 & 8. You may need to use your gateway's manual for specific steps to set this up.

so even step 7 didn't work ....step 8 is a wired connection which ive tried and works just fine...only time I have an issue with that is if my internet goes..out

 

This may be narrowed down the wireless functionality of your gateway, are you able to test your console at your friend's house again to see if similar issues occur?

If the issue doesn't occur on wired connection, and works fine on a different wireless network connection, you may need to acquire a stand alone wireless router that is good for console gaming to bridge to your gateway. Bridging to your gateway turns off
its wireless functionality so that a stand alone wireless router can take care of the wireless functionality (your ISP may need to assist in setting that up). Another solution would be to continue using a wired connection.

.... its 2017 ....a wired connection is a thing of the past...its why xbox came out with the wireless adapter ...and the 360slim came with wifi.. and like me and everyone else in the other post .a wired connection is not reasonable in our circumstances.
for me running a 50ft Ethernet across my house ...that animals can bite and cause a fire isn't a bright idea. this is an approved router/modem gateway for my ISP I originally didn't have a supported one..and had to go out and buy one that they supported..because
I was having issues with my original console and buying what I have now fixed it until I started using my Xbox one S Gears edition.it narrowed it down to my xbox's wireless functionality not my gateway because like I said my laptop which sits even further
away from the gateway..works just fine on my wireless. just to prove this I could hook up my xbox 360 slim and play on that wirelessly and not this this issue if I must to prove my point.im sure you guys...maybe more so the techs...have a way of sending out
an app for xbox that can run a diagnostics on the internals of the xbox itself..not the stuff under settings-network

 

so ive been on my 360slim for a good hour or so downloading games so I can actually test out what happens when I play multiplayer..vs just sitting on a dashboard. besides my powerbrick overheating because the fan had been collecting dust and wasn't working
...I haven't had an issue yet.
