GoW2 freezes on "Network settings are being updated"

Last week the game crashed and sent me back to Xbox One main screen. After that, every time I try to play it the game freezes right in the beginning while "Network settings are being updated". Some times it freezes and send me back to Xbox one main screen,
sometimes it just stays there "updating" and irresponsive. Nothing happens if I press the button to start.

I tried deleting, redownloading and reinstalling the game, and the problem persists.

I got the game from the code in the GoW4 bundle.

Gears of Wars 2 BC Crashing

It patches the executable so you wont be able to delete updates. After you rule out network connection being the issue the next culprit could be save data considering that you re installed the game and still get the same issue. I dont think its the shell because you are able to play two other BC games. We will see though.

I did play two other bc titles without issue after the gow2, and tried gow2 again. Did all the basics one would ask a noob.

I did not try offline cause well i'm a noob, but it's crashing before it gets to the network checking now, now it crashes at the microsoft games logo. Will try offline next just to rule it out.

Wonder, if i delete the cache it deletes updates, does that mean like all day one patch type things?

But my buddy who was playing split-screen with me, have the same problem the game freezes the same way if we start the game with both logged-in. We were playing together when the problem happened.

Hello again!

The issue wasn't with a specific account but the game itself and we had the team in charge of the game fix the issue. So what your friend is seeing now would be separate from the original issue. Has he tried clearing the

system cache and then
remove his account and add it back to the console.

Hi. I removed his account, deleted the game cache and added his account back. If he logs in alone or with me, the same problem happens. It freezes while "updating network settings".
