Got New Debit Card But Site Won't Let Me Add It

I recently got my new debit card in the mail, which supposedly has a chip in it for added security or whatever, and activated it online. It has the same name and 16-digit number as the old one, but a different whatever-the-3-digit-number-is called and a
different expiration date. Now, I want to have it be the card any future X-Box Live transactions or what-have-you use instead of the soon-defunct old one. When I tried to add it to my account so I could switch it, however, the site ("Microsoft Account - Billing
and Payments") won't allow me to add it. It's NOT the same as the old one, since it has the exp. date and 3-digit-thingy different from the old one even if the 16-digit thing is the same. The bank is going to cancel my 'old' card on Feb. 2nd; if the site won't
let me register the new card by then, I'm screwed.

Why won't it let me register the new card? What do I do to get it to let me do so?

Status code: 8382025C trying to add paypal as payment method, Canada.

The billing and account management site won't let me add a debit card, when there are instructions saying how to do so. Theres no edit or add direct debit links on the pages it tells me to follow..

| just recently got a new visa debit card because my old one got damaged. when i go to manage my payment options it won't let me delete my old card or add my new one plus my new one was valid at on 12/2011

 

Have you tried removing the old debit card first, and then entering the new one?



If it's an error about the new card being the "same", it's likely the system not letting you add two cards to the account with the same 16-digit number.
