Got an Xbox 360, and I'm having trouble downloading a game and redeeming codes.

I bought an Xbox 360, and made an account. When I tried to redeem my 25$ code, it went okay, until I clicked done. It only showed one choice, which was just cancel. I chose cancel, and went to browse games. I went to buy banjo kazooie, but when I clicked
on the download button, it didn't give me a choice to buy, and only wanted me to enter billing information. I entered that, and then I re-entered the 25$ code. It said it added 25$ to my account, but it didn't. How do I redeem codes and download games?

So I guess you got the code 0x8018101E, which usually means that you're having trouble redeeming a code. What is the problem and how did you get this Error Code?

i thought the 360 games were platform agnostic. no way of redeeming the code and then DLing it to the 360 after the fact??Click to expand... no code is already used for example I redeemed my alan wake American nightmare code on 360 and then it popped up on my x1 as available to download but I did alan wake in reverse

Can you be a bit more specific on which you was using to redeem the codes? Was it through the website at xbox.com or was it directly through the console?

If done through the website it sometimes does not save your billing information you enter, i tried doing the same and it wasn't going through.

My advice would be (If you haven't already done so on the Xbox 360 Console)

Step 1. On the dashboard navigate alll the way to the right under tab 'Settings'

Step 2. Click on 'Account' under the 'Settings' tab

Step 3. Navigate to 'Billing Information' in the ''Account' section

Step 4. It'll ask you to sign in with your Microsoft Account and to enter your password. (go ahead and do that)

Step 5. Enter in your correct billing information accordingly into all of the fields it requires, and then save changes.

To redeem a code on the console:

Step 1. Press the guide button on your controller until you see the options "Xbox Home, Friends, Party, Messages, Beacons etc" Go to the tab left from that and you should be under "Games & Apps" on the guide. Go down and click on "Redeem Code" and enter
in your 25-character code that you have, then try redeeming it again.

If this still doesn't solve the problem I'd recommend giving them a call, or going to the support section to contact them at:

One way or another you'll get a resolution to your problem. Let me know if this works!

PLEASE HELP XBOX SUPPORT

I reached the hotline TWICE over the phone, I'm from France so I got a french-speaking hotliner, but they have so poor french that they have trouble understanding me. It took me almost 3 minutes to have the guy on the other side spelling my email adress
correctly. 3 MINUTES !!!

He actually confirmed that the code is valid, and still unused. But I still can't download my games

The redeem code doesn't work from the Xbox app on windows 10

Any ideas? This is really starting to be irritating, Xbox should be able to unlock content for us has WE PAID FOR THE GAMES.

If the game is digital and you got it free, I'm guessing you had to redeem a code from a card you got with the Xbox Bundle.

If so, the game is tied to the account that you redeemed the code with. You'll just have to go to the store, search for the game and should be able to see the download option.

Please ensure that you search for the game while logged into the account that redeemed the code, or else you'll be shown the option to purchase the game.

I'm have the same problem. Redeemed code and it didn't download. Now I can't download it. Xbox one seams a step back. Xbox 360 was so easy to use

Hello Emperor,

For some Xbox 360 codes, when redeemed on Xbox One, the game can only be downloaded on Xbox One and not on an Xbox 360 console. I'm not entirely sure why, but redeeming on the Xbox One means that it does not show up in your Xbox 360 download history so the
older console does not recognise that you own, and can thus download, the game.

You'll still be able to download and play the game on Xbox One.

I hope this clarifies things.
