Got an error code with 2EE2 at the end of it

Hi guys,

Well I went to turn on my console today and it informed me I had an update to install - so away I go and it gets to the point of restarting, then comes up with the error message ending in 2EE2. I looked through the forums and tried everything:

testing network connection (console - modem was fine, modem to internet was fine and then internet to xbl was a red cross, at which point it asked me to get the update again);

restarting the modem twice to see if that had any changes (nope);

tried a wired connection still to no avail; even attempted the save file to a usb stick and try that way... I tried this last as I only had one USB stick to use (which had previously held Burnout Paradise which has now been lost and I really want it back) so
I saved everything from the download file to the USB stick, inserted it to the console and turned the console on (cos thats what the checklist said to do) but the install didn't start happening, it just popped up again with download update. I am at my wits
end about this and I don't know what to do.

I've just restarted my console again and its sitting on the 'update in progress' screen, not moving anything except for the circle in the centre. PLEASE HELP! As all I want to do is go back online in Black Ops 2!!

I am completely at a loss as to what to do because I know I have internet (had used XBL last night before bed)

Can't download update

I just got off the phone with live support, the error code i gave them ending in 2ee2 was a error code on xbox live page. the tech said nothing bad on my end. Way to drop the ball microsoft. Rep said give it till this evening... lol lying but hey, they gotta
keep hope alive right? If they dont have this fixed b6y the end of the week I will be buying a ps3.

Please give the following steps a try:

• First, clear your Xbox 360 system cache 3 times.
  
• Power cycle your Xbox 360 console.
  
• Once your console is powered on, try downloading the update again.

If you are still unable to download the update, copy the update from your computer to a USB flash drive by trying the following steps:

Note The USB flash drive must use the FAT32 file system. For information about how to format a USB flash drive, see the “Format a USB flash drive” section of Xbox 360 USB flash
drive support.

1. Plug your USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer.
2. Download the update file.
   
3. Click Save to save the console update .zip file on your computer.
4. Unzip the file. If you are using Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7, double-click the .zip file to unzip it.
   
5. Copy the contents of the .zip file to the root directory of your USB flash drive (for example, E:\). Do not copy the contents to another folder on the USB flash drive (for example, E:\Files).
   
6. Unplug the USB flash drive from your computer.
7. Plug the flash drive into a USB port on your Xbox 360 console.
8. Restart the console.
9. When the console restarts, the installation program starts automatically. Select Yes when you are prompted to update the new console software.
   

If you are unable to download the update to a USB flash drive, you can burn the update to a CD or DVD by trying the following steps:

1. On your computer, download the update file.
   
2. Click Save to save the console update .zip file on your computer.
3. Unzip the file. If you are using Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7, double-click the .zip file to unzip it.
   

• If you are using Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7, double-click the .zip file to unzip it.
  
• If you are using an earlier version of Windows, you need to use a special software program to unzip the file (for example, WinZip).
  

• Insert a blank, writeable CD or DVD into your computer.
• Copy the contents of the .zip file to the root directory on your CD or DVD, and choose to write (burn) the files to the disc.
  
• Once the files have been burned to disc, remove that disc from your computer and insert it into the disc drive on your Xbox 360 console.
  
• Restart the console.
• When the console restarts, the installation program starts automatically. Select Yes when you are prompted to update the new console software.
