    TL;DR - Got an "0x80070490" error code when trying to play a Blu Ray Disc.

    So earlier tonight, I was using my XBox One to watch a Blu Ray. I watched Angry Birds the Movie without any problem from beginning to end. I wanted to watch Central Intelligence after that, so I stuck my rented Blu Ray Disc in and ran through the previews
    until I hit the welcome screen. After I got to that point, I just left it on that screen as I stepped aside to make myself a snack.

    I must've been gone for maybe 10 or 15 minutes, and when I got back to my console, I pressed the play button (the play pause menu was still up), and nothing happened. After tapping the A button a few times, it seemed like it was frozen. Nothing I did fixed
    the problem. I ended up trying to do an eject and hard reset, however the light just kept blinking on my console. So I just unplugged it in hopes of the problem being solved.

    Unfortunately after I turned on my XBox One, the Blu Ray app gave me an error message that assigned the following code: 0x80070490. I went to look it up on xbox.com/errorhelp, however the webpage was nothing short of useless. It claimed that the error belonged
    to the 360 and all the steps had no relevance to my console. I tried switching the Blu Ray Disc with my aforementioned rented Angry Birds the Movie and that had the same error attached to it. I next tried putting in a game disc, Madden 17, and that loaded
    up and ran without issue. The last experiment I took was inserting a Lego Movie Blu Ray Disc and it gave me the same problem as with the other movies.

    There seems to be a problem with the Blu Ray app itself. That error appears even if there isn't an Blu Ray disc inside the console. Please help! This is my only Blu Ray player and I'm not too keen on the idea of buying another XBox One during Black Friday...

    0x80070490 error code comes up when attempting to play a blu ray or DVD.

    Blu Rays and DVDs won't play - Error 0x80070006

    My Xbox One has also stopped playing Blu Ray and DVDs discs. I get the same error code.

    No Movies (blu ray or dvd)

    I just received my replacement xbox one console. Progress! The new one does PLAY commerical blu ray and dvd's!!! It does NOT play any of the blu ray movie disc (BDMV) that I created. Error 0x91d70000 (the error message on the old console was
    0x91d70001).

    Progress. It does play the commerical blu ray disc (Star Trek into Darkness is the only one I have).

    Thanks... I downloaded the blu-ray app but when I try to play it, it gives me an error. Other blu-rays play fine but the one I created with the graduation will not play. Any suggestions?

    Ultra hd player or app problems.

    Same as everyone else. I got the Xbox One specifically for the Ultra HD Blu-ray capability. Many of the discs I try to play give the error code 0x80040903 which Microsoft claims doesn't exist.

    I should have gotten a PlayStation and a separate Blu-ray player.

    The Xbox One S is certainly capable of playing 3D content including 3D Blu-rays. What happens when you try exactly? Can you please provide any error message or error code? Does this happen with all 3D Blu-ray titles or just one?

    Can't read this disc errors... (0x80820002)

    Ok - I cleared persistent storage, followed by a power cycle.

    Put in a Blu-Ray that I got from Netflix that I've not yet been able to get to play (The Lone Ranger) - Put it in and *nothing* - No error message, no nothing. This is the first time that has happened. Gave it 4 or 5 minutes, then hit eject. Reinserted
    the same Blu-Ray disc. This time I got the "sorry can't play this disc" 0x80820002 error code.

    Then decided to put in a Blu-Ray that I had played successfully this morning for my son (The Lion King) This time, rather than a successful play I got the 0x80820002 error code. Seemed like clearing persistent memory and cycling made it worse, but really
    it just feels pretty random. I suppose I could cycle the power again The Lion King would probably play fine.

    It's frustrating. The Blu-Ray aspects of this Xbox One do *not* look very well executed to me.
