Got a new xbox 360 external hardrive

Hey guys,

my last xbox 360 which was the basic model stopped working cause of the disc tray error which I guess the lazor to read disc wore out.

I got the new bundled xbox 360 pack that has 500gb already in it

but i have all my saved data and games and stuff on my 60 gb external hardrive

that was on the first model xbox 360 (the white basic one)

How do i hook it up to new 360 which is blackish and 500 gb.

I can use any external hardrive with the Xbox One. As in if I went and got like a 2TB external hardrive I can use that for my digital game downloads.

 

Getting new xbox 360 concern:

ok thanks I was thinking about transfering music or videos or pictures from PC. Is that do able?

the hardrive that comes with the 500 gb xbox 360 is that inside or attachable?

cause i have a external hardrive that holds 30 gb that i connected to my old xbox 360. Can that connect to new xbox 360?

how would you move the 500 gb hardrive to a new console i assume its inside?

assuming i get red ring of death.

I think the best thing to do then is get games on the 500 gb part and use external for game saves?

You'll need to find a transfer cable in order to connect the old hard drive to your new console and move the content over

support.xbox.com/.../set-up-transfer-cable.

Please go for an official cable. It might cost a little more but the third party ones are notorious for losing data.

I know you say the DVD drive has gone in your old console but does it still power on? I ask because as an alternative you could use a USB stick to move content from the old console to the new.
