Got a HDD 250GB from a friend but,

When I plug it into the box, it takes forever to boot up and then it wont sign in. I got this from a friend and he didn't use it anymore so it probably has stuff from him on it still. How can I get this to work on my XBOX? FYI- its a 250GB Microsoft Drive

Hardware difference between Slim 4 GB and 250 GB xbox?

I don't know if they're still doing it, but when I bought my 4GB Best Buy was doing a deal for 30$ off the 250GB HDD. I actually got the 4GB S+ the extra 250GB HDD for abput 20$ less than a 250GB S.

 

Memory transfer

My question is this. I have a Xbox 360 S already and I am thinking of purchasing a new one, but one in the Black Matte style with a 250GB HDD. My current console has a 250GB HDD already in it. Can I use the new transfer cable that is meant for the Slim
Xbox 360 and transfer my content from one 250GB HDD to another 250GB HDD? The new Matte Xbox's with a 250 HDD in them already have them, so I don't need to have two hard drives. So basically in escense I am asking it I can transfer content from 250GB to
a 250GB?

 

Is it an official drive? You may need to format the drive if it is not working properly. Also, if your friend has his stuff on the drive you will not be able to use it anyway as the games are licensed to his console and not yours.

 

it is official drive. how do you format it. I can never get signed in to do so.

 

Take the hard drive to your friend's house and put it in his console. If it won't boot up on his then there's nothing that can be done as the drive will be dead.
