    Google Hangouts Notifications on Xbox One


    Hi,

    I have been hearing a notification noise from Google Hangouts while in-game on my Xbox. I thought it may have been Cortana notifications, but it still happens after disabling those.

    It's pretty annoying to get these loud noises while playing. I was wondering if anyone knew where they were coming from and how to disable it.

    I do not have any Hangouts app on the Xbox. Yes, I do get the notifications on my phone.

    I have the Spotify app installed and playing background music on the Xbox. Could that be related?

    I do not believe you can get Google Hangout notifications on Xbox One. It's not possible at all. Are you getting those on your phone?

    You could try uninstalling the google hangouts app and see if that fixes the issue.

    Oh you're right! I just switched to a Smart TV and it has Hangouts on it - thats where the notifications were coming from.
