    Google Assistant Overzealous Shutdowns


    The ability to turn the Xbox off via Google should only happen with the exact phrase, "Hey Google, turn off Xbox."

    We have Philips Hue lights, and tonight my wife said a phrase we've said forever now to turn off the lights. "Hey Google, turn off the living room."

    I know that's shorthand for saying the same thing plus "lights" at the end of it, but it's always been easiest to just not say lights.

    Tonight the Xbox turned off with the living room lights. Really not cool. I don't care if it's a part of the "living room".

    It should never turn off with explicitly being mentioned in a voice command.

    Honestly, they are direct competitors and I doubt it would happen, and honestly I don't want want any of Google's junk on my Xbox.

    I'd be so down for that! I've got the majority of my smart devices hooked up to my Google Home system, wouldn't mind hooking up my Xbox, too. :D
