Good Xbox games for 2 people to play simultaneously?

'Had a PS3 for years. Rarely used it. Haven't turned it on in probably 3-5 years.

I'm not a hardcore gamer - mostly just Warcraft on PC.

'Got a new 75" 4K TV, so I figured I'd update my console for the rare times I want to watch a 4K Bluray so I pre-ordered an Xbox One X from Best Buy (I know - probably an utter waste of money for how much I'll use it).

Eager to see what GTA 5 looks like on it as I just started playing GTA on my PC.

I'd like to know what people would suggest as a good game that 2 people can play at the same time. ie: 2 controllers, same console, same TV screen (not online).

She says she likes shooters, but I'm open to anything that's a good 2-player game.

Suggestions?

a question about car games

I will give PS+ a quick plug.

Tomb raider, Remember me, Bioshock Infinite, Payday 2, Borderlands 2 plus a few arcade games are free right now.

And the need for speed discounts are good for 5$. Most wanted, The Run, Hot Pursuit and Carbon.

Just good game deals. Don't be mad a lot of people play on PS and Xbox.

Splitscreen games?

splitscreen wtf is that I have 8 of the 10 games out right now and one of them I can play 2 player with people in the same room good thing I don't have more than on kid ...I don't care about the talking to the xbox option I would like to play with 2 people
in the same room but the only way to do this is to buy 2 of everything even the new halo game doesn't support splitscreen ...its a overpriced joke Atari had 2 player back how many years ago....and I love the xbox package I bought that came with 2 controllers
and 3 games and out of the 3 games...no 2 player...well unless you wanted to have a race on forza with just 2 people no other cars ...and not to forget the waiting time just to play a game for the first time on the system ....they should have just updated
the 360 but no money in that....so thanks xbox for killing games unless your a geek that lives in his mothers basement and has no life

I am a massive fan of couch coop or same screen coop. There is quite a few actually, here are a few of my favorites.

Rocket league - Offer player versus player , and coop options as well. Very easy to play. Will get Enhanced support for the X eventually, as its on the official Enhanced list.

Trackmania Turbo - Free with Gold this month, Fast, unique racing experience with same screen racing, it has a unique mode where 2 people control one car.

The Halo, and Gear of war series are 1st and 3rd person shooters with strong stories and also Halo Master chief collection, Halo 5, Halo 3 and Gear of War 4 all have Enhancements available at launch. Halo MCC, is a remastering of the first 4 Halo games,
which have some amazing coop potential. Long campaigns, with a lot of difficulty levels to beat, and only 40.00 USD with most retailers. If she is into shooters this might be the best ban for your buck.

If you enjoy 2d platforms, Rayman legends is a amazing game, with an amazing art style, game is good at keeping a smile on your face as you play. N++ is a great technical/precise platformer with endless supply of levels but a more a more basic unique
artstyle. And Kalimba is a great puzzle platformer.

Terraria and Minecraft are 2 great sandbox/survival games, that have a lot of hours worth of content and are very fun in coop. Minecraft does have Enhancements planned.

I have not tried them Myself, but I see Overcooked and lovers in a dangerous space time suggested in this category alot, although warning, I am told they can be friendship testers .

I hope others can give you some suggestions as well, and you guys enjoy your new system!

I have been able to successfully connect 2 xboxs to xbox live simultaneously and play Modern Warfare 3 simultaneously. I received the same connection error when trying to invite player 2 on xbox 2 to the game player 1 on xbox 1 was on. After the invite
was successfuly sent, xbox 2 was signed out of xbox live and was not able to connect to approximately 10 minutes.

When you're buying a new console for children, it's a good practice to make sure you research the games they will play on it beforehand. Since the kids will be sharing the console, you can use the keyword "xbox games for 2 players" for your research (here's a good list to get started with) - you'll get a list of the best games which can be played simultaneously by two players on Xbox. However, you should be aware that most of those games are not suitable for younger players because they're too violent. Minecraft is an obvious choice, of course - you can't go wrong with the 3D sandbox played by millions of children and adults all over the world. Also, I recommend you check out a pirate game that's super fun and appropriate for children - it's called Sea of Thieves. It's a beautiful game which can be played by two people simultaneously on one Xbox and it has a player base of more than 15 million registered players.

As people have mentioned you can only have one home xbox per account. It's not possible to have 2 home Xbox accounts simultaneously.
