I have two xbox ones in my house and both have strict NAT as well as poor download speeds so im wanting a new router to handle both consoles as well as a pc and three wireless devices. What are some good gaming routers, Linksys – Create Your Perfect WiFi System this

Recommended Wireless Router for Xbox live (360 and ONE)

Cisco Linksys Routers are also pretty good for connecting to Xbox live

    Hi Jake,

It sounds like your router is just not a good fit for Xbox Live. Some routers are like that. If a reset on your router doesn't do the trick, a new one may be in order.

    Here is a
    giant list of routers
, most of which are great fits for Xbox Live.

Let us know if you have anymore questions.

I've been using a Netgear N600 Wireless Dual-Band Router for over 2 years now and it has been spectacular. I only have a 30M/b download speed and that gets spread between 3 devices which include my desktop, my mom's laptop, and either the Xbox 360 or Xbox
One. I have never lost connection over wi-fi and I have never had a STRICT NAT while playing games online. If you can find one, I would recommend it.

I've got an older Netgear modem/router (DGND3300) and so far no issues with either wired or wireless. It's been solid, but my net speed is just good enough for the X1 (I'm in Australia).

Wired is always better though, but without knowing your netspeed it's hard to say whether it's a router or bandwidth issue. If you can run a cable it should solve the strict NAT. Some wireless protocols have issues, or so I've been told.

If you can't run a cable, maybe look into Ethernet Over Power... I use it, never had any problems. It's a wired connection without all the cables.

There are a few things to look at with this, like try not to use EoP with a powerboard, try to use it in a separate power outlet to the console, and the two EoP devices have to be on the same circuit... You might not need a new router...

    Hope this helps...

    Unfortunately you need this:

"For an optimal experience, we recommend a broadband connection of 1.5Mbps." - Microsoft.

I'd say you would need to ensure no other devices were using up bandwidth when using your X1, see if it helps... Even then, I'm not sure your connection is going to handle it...

  9. 1mps is barely enough to be playing on Xbox Live to be fair. Although less than ideal, you should definitely consider speaking with your ISP about an upgrade or moving to a new ISP. I also live in a reasonably small town (it's far from big but by no means
a village) and my area is compatible with up to 152mb Fibre Optic, currently I get 50mb and pay a very low price. This is 2014 and you're getting pre-2005 speeds.

A router may help with your issues, you will most likely even be able to fix your NAT issues with the one you have but if you were to move ISP, they'd probably give you a new one that is more than capable of supplying you with a strong gaming connection.

@dynamic sausage we pay £42 have 50mb via " super hub 2 " far better range plus two wireless channels 5.4 & 2.4 which is ideal when visitors come and have not got wireless N, we have a great range of channels on the TiVo box, bt sports being one of them

it pays to complain when you don't get what you expect

Like others have mentioned, Netgear is good, I used to have one and never had problems, but since joining Sky for my broadband I have the Sky hub, also no problems with it and the two laptops, Xbox One and two Xbox 360s.
