Good "realistic" squad-based shooters for 360?

Hey all,

I've got a craving for a good strategic/realistic FPS for 360, preferably squad-based, along the lines of the old Tom Clancy games. "Tactical shooters" if you will.

Checking around, far as I can tell very little has come out in this genre for consoles recently. I picked up Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and was extremely disappointed - it's basically CoD with a couple stealth & cover mechanics... the missions are mostly
on rails, you can't really customize your squad or have any real tactical options, the game pretty much leads you through each mission. Also you can get shot 5-10 times without much trouble, and of course you heal up this damage in 10 seconds or so. The plot
is totally overboard Hollywood crap. Not what I expected.

Are there any good ones out there? I don't even need straight-up simulation, just something with a little realism and tension, being able to customize your team and actually issue them orders that make a difference would be nice too.

This would be for single-player campaign BTW, I don't play online much. Thanks in advance.

Oh yeah, i had forgotten about that Xcom game that was coming out.



but eh only games i'm looking forward too is skyrim,mass effect 3 ,deus ex and maybe prey 2

[/quote] I found Dragon Rising to be better than Red River.

If you like squad based shooters i would recommend GRAW2, it is a good game with a lot of content on the disk for very little expense.

 

Operation flashpoint dragon rising might be something your looking or but I don't remember customizing squad capabilities.

 

Yeah, the Operation Flashpoint series are the only games that come to mind as far as realistic shooters. Sandbox style missions, realistic health system, etc. Much slower paced than you BF and COD games.

 

Check out the Rainbow 6 series. It's supposed to be tac/sim.
