During a conference call with investors today the Activision chief said Bungie's Destiny will be the best selling video game of all time. Thoughts, comments, criticisms and concerns.

Latest game informer makes me hate Activision!

Mine just came in the mail and I noticed the article but havent sat down to read it yet. But I can only guess that good ol Bobby Kotex is at it agian.

best mp yet-having slayer only k/d has really pizzed some people off-but they suck anyway-bumped heads with ol jaximus once-but he knows a good game and i do like doom alot

 

Remember when Infinity Ward made that public declaration that Ghosts was going to break every record set by GTAV? And then it came it out and didn't even break the last Call of Duty's records? lol Ahh, good times.

 

Yes I do remember that. You cant blame the guy for believing in the games they publish though

[/quote]Of course you can't blame someone for being confident in their product. You can say it will be amazing, ground breaking, best game ever. But when you start predicting sales figures, let alone the highest sales figures of all time, that's something
else entirely.

I honestly expect Titanfall to outsell Destiny.

[/quote]A platform exclusive isn't going to outsell a multiplat game. Even if Titanfall is the better game, the consumer base just isn't big enough to compete.

I dunno. I mean you have a point, but something in my gut keeps telling me Destiny may not be all it seems.

You may very well be right. But it's from Bungie with the marketing power of Activision. It's gonna sell.

 

Actually he said the best selling NEW IP of all time, and it certainly has the potential.

[/quote]That makes more sense. No new IP will ever come out of the gate and sell more than GTA or COD. But like I said earlier, with the pedigree of Bungie and the marketing power of Activision, this game will undoubtedly be hugely successful.

 

I used to be hugely interested in this game, but the more I hear of it, the more deflated my interest becomes.
