Good internet but, issues with games.

I have a just about the best internet I can get in my area. Browsing the internet, downloads, and even gaming on my PC work great and are very fast. However on xbox live when I'm hosting a party there are frequent disconnects, and when I am hosting a game
all the other players complain about lag to the point where the game is unplayable. My computer and xbox are both hooked up to the same router so I do not see how i have 2 completely different experiences. Also, the group that I play with are all in the same
area so I wouldn't think latency would be a problem. So, any ideas on how to improve this? I attached a network test o you can have an idea of the speeds I have(note this is from a saturday night so the network is a bit busier than normal and this is at the
low end of what i usually have at a max of 60mbps). Speedtest by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test

games wont connect to server

Anyone having issues with their games not connecting to the internet ? My connection is good everything seems to be working fine except for the Xbox games don't acknowledge my internet connection. Its getting frustrating.

I miss the E3 Xbox...

Im with you Bazra , I had pre-ordered on the day you were able to from game in the UK .. and I agree I did like the direction they were headed in , I just wish they could find a solution for those that suffer with internet issues but also a way that does
not penalize those that have good internet. I am sure they could have come up with something.

How far is your router from your Xbox? In most cases, you would need to have your Xbox sitting up fairly high in a secure area to prevent any obstructions that can block the flow from your wireless adapter built in your Xbox.

Another problem that may be causing this is how many devices are using your WiFi. I see that you said that your Xbox and computer are hooked up to the same router but if others in your household are using the router as well, problems like these tend to occur.
Depending on how much bandwidth you have, only so many devices can be connected to the one router that you are using before problems like this can occur. I would try contacting your internet service provider and checking with them to see if they could provide
any valuable information if none of the above helped you.

Thanks guys .. I'm sure part of my problem is the rest of my family is on their computers or playing Their 360s .. That's why I was just going to get timewarner just for my room and run the Ethernet straight to the xbox..

My personal recommendations is that if you have multiple users on your network, set up your router so that the IP of your Xbox has priority over all other traffic by using the QoS (Quality of Service) setting.

you don't need much bandwidth to play online, if i recall correctly, i was monitoring my usage while playing Titanfall, and it was only about 0.75mbps during the matches, i recall someone saying that Destiny was a little higher. so unless you're planning
on streaming your gameplay on Twitch or something, you'll be fine with a simple 5mbps connection, but if someone will also be streaming Netfilx(or something like that), or if you plan on getting a lot of games digitally then you'd want more speed.

but you really need to be looking at the latency, stay away from satellite and wireless internet providers as they will have the highest amount of latency, if possible going with fiber or cable internet would be best for low latency.
