    Hey does anyone know of any good headsets that I can plug directly into my xbox controller. Im looking for a headset that I can use for game audio and chat audio for a reasonable price.

    The newer controller

    From what ive read the newer controller with the 3.5 headphone jack includes mic monitoring ( not the adapter the controller itself) , so can i use any headset, and get mic monitoring? Or does the headset need certain hardware.

    hello.

    Is it possible to have the gamesound go trought the controller into the headset instead of the TV?

    If this is possible, does it exist an adapter for the controller so i can plug in a normal 3.5 headset/headphones in it?

    head set not being XBOX are no longer working

    Third party headsets are not banned, xbox is ok with whathever headphones or headsets you use in your controller, but is only for new xbox one controller like the xbox one s controller, for the older controller you need an adaptor, the keyboard expantion
    works with the 3.5 mm jack

    Sorry to hear it. If the headphones are not working then it may be the 3.5 mm jack that is messing up on you. You may need to purchase a new controller or Xbox Headset Adapter to see if that helps. Another option would be to go with a wireless headset

    No, this is an old Xbox One controller without the 3.5 mm jack for headphones. It's a shame that I will have to buy a new controller, but thanks for the help!

    Another note on the 3.5 stereo to 3.5 stereo male to male cord...

    Make sure that the stereo jack on the TV is the same size as the stereo jack on your headphone "in-line" volume controller. Some headphones use a 2.5mm instead of a 3.5mm. The TV is most likely the 3.5mm size.

    Compare the one plugged into the TV with the one plugged into you headset "in-line" controller. If they are the same, you will have no trouble finding a 3.5 to a 3.5 (The jack on the Xbox One controller chat converter is 3.5mm also).

    If one is thinner than the other, you will have to find a 3.5mm stereo male jack to a 2.5mm stereo male jack. Where I live, the only place I found one was online (eBay is where I got one).

    Hello! May I ask what type of adapter your headphones have? Xbox One controllers use a 3.5 millimeter port, which is what your average type of headphones/earbuds would use. This means that no specific adapter is needed to connect your headphones to your
    headset.

    For some reference too: The Xbox controller headset port comes with
    a 3.5 millimeter port to the left, which if your headset does come with the 3.5 millimeter jack (All headsets should come with one unless they specifically state they use a USB port), it would be compatible with the controller. The middle port of the controller
    is for extensions you can have for the controller such as a turtle beach microphone control to other items that are compatible.
