Good games on the Xbox 360?

So I fully admit I've been a diehard PC gamer for more years than I care to think about but someone who owed me money gave me a 360 and a few games (Gears of War 2+3, Borderlands 2, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2) instead.

Not one to turn down a new experience I'm looking for other recommendations. I must add though that the games would have to be playable without a Gold subscription, there is no way on God's Green Earth that Microsoft are going to get me to pay for online play.

Any good RTS games on the xbox one?

YeahRisk is the hasbro ubisoft game, turn based pretty much money for old rope, its abit like that apocalypse infection game, is it plague evolved or something I think. Halo wars is December by all accounts, thats if it is actually releasedon the BC on time.
just because they don't do well on console doesn't mean they shouldn't be done, feels like xbox is selling out to PC with many genre's and with that whole exclusivity joke makes people want to get a PC more, the only thing which is selling halo wars is the
halo part, so if they approach it head on for PC I will be ditching the console because it would suggest they are taking the angle of PC so previous halo's may follow, and just do that whole cod thing where PC may get it later but people aren't fussy to wait
any more, it comes when it comes.

 

Any good RTS games on the xbox one?

The Risk game was re-released, it's not bad but it lacks some of the fun factor that Risk Factions introduced.

 

Here are some games on Xbox 360 (old and new) that I personally enjoyed. All of them have a single player component. Most online games do require a Gold subscription, though there are limited multiplayer games you can enter into in the Halo games, I believe.
Most of the games I listed below have solid single player or local co-op modes.

Xbox 360 Games: Kameo, Alan Wake, Lost Odyssey, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary/Halo 3/Halo Reach, Ninety-Nine Nights, Tomb Raider/Rise of the Tomb Raider, Scene It Box Office Smash, Forza Horizon, Dead or Alive 4, Amped 3, Eternal Sonata

Xbox Arcade Games: Rez HD, The Walking Dead, Syberia, Ikaruga, Pinball FX 2, Perfect Dark, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, ilomilo, Lumines LIVE, Life is Strange

 

Oblivion and Skyrim are both Elder Scroll games and probably my two favorites. If you buy Skyrim, get the Legendary Edition, it includes all the dlc which makes an already awesome game all the better. I also love Fallout 3, Alan Wake, Dishonored, LA Noire,
The Evil Within, all of the Saints Row games, and any of the Assassin Creed games. Oh, and Red Dead Redemption along with Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare are awesome as well.

With any of these games, look to purchase the version that comes with dlc, usually labeled things like "game of the year edition", "ultimate edition", "Legendary Edition" etc, to get the most out of game. Good place to compare the versions, as well as look
at screen shots etc, is on amazon.com. All of these games I've mentioned are single player.

Oh! I almost forgot some favorites that tie with the Elder Scroll games, the Bioshock games! There's Bioshock 1+2 and Bioshock Infinite.

 

There are some great games listed in the suggestions above. You might also look into Condemned: Criminal Origins. It is an Xbox 360 launch title and a good one for the Halloween season.
