I predict titanfall to sell more copies than any other game

 

there are 2 stories within the MP.. one for each faction....or so I read... also supposed to release with 14 maps... monsters are a rumor but looks like the rumor is true... here OP...

With PC/360 sales maybe but not with xboxone sales alone there are not enough xboxones sold to break a platform record

 

TF won't beat GTA V in sales.

I said predict didnt say it will happen for sure. but combines with all other platforms i think it will sell a lot of copies.there feedback on pc forums and xbox forums over at respawn is great.

never seen so much good feedback on a game before..hopefully cod will die now

 

Predict means you think it will happen.

But thats not the point...I think it will sell like hotcakes on X1. From what I"ve gathered on the PC front...the hype seems low.

Many PC gamers just don't think it looks all that great.

 

GTA V had what?? 12 million copies in 24 hours? no way XB1 PC & 360 can break that... as a majority of the purchasers own multiple platforms...and will only buy one copy...maybe 2...

 

You want to know why companies don't release betas? People play a beta version of a sliver of the game and decide that there isn't enough content in the full game. SMH

 

Yeah, I've heard of that CODukes4; developers not wanting to release demos for fear of it actually hurting sales - after playing the beta, I might be inclined not to get it myself, although I probably will anyways just to add another good shooter under my
belt (& with giant mechs to boot!).

 

The game will most definitely sell and move consoles. That is pretty much a given. To me, it isn't anywhere close to being innovative or interesting that I'm looking for. It's just another shooter. We've seen these for the past 10+ years now. Give me
something like Quantum Break (which, admittedly, could turn out to be a lemon), a game that does have a story and has me very intrigued.

 

I'm with you on this as well. I so much enjoy a good single player story driven campaign to get me ready for some MP.... but I'm also a older gamer that grew up with single player games, so that's what I'm so used to.

Don't get me wrong I enjoy some good old fun playing with some friends in MP and all, but to me it just gets boring after a while, so I'm more of a game jumper. Once I'm done I jump to another game to enjoy.

At first I wasn't even going to try it because I'm a bit old school and no SP had me feeling like I'd be 'paying full price for half a game'. Between that and EA involvement, I was going to bypass it altogether. I wasn't even going to try the beta but a
friend gave me a code (before it was free for all anyway lol) and I decided to give it a try, more out of courtesy to him than interest in the game. <That being said, I actually love the idea of giant mech combat... it was the other factors keeping me away.

After my first few games, I felt a lot like you. I just didn't see this game as the harbinger of a new age in consoles or next gen innovation. TBH, I still don't... But I do have to admit that after a few more games, the addiction started to kick in. For
me, I think that the giant mech aspect helps give the game a bit of a slower paced feel which, as an older gamer, I can appreciate. But at the same time, the foot soldier aspect has the faster paced 'CoD feel'... and yet it still balances. That in itself makes
me at least give them credit where it's due. As others have said, a beta is just a small piece of the game so I don't think it's fair to say "what's so special about it?" when I know I haven't seen a large chunk of what it will ship with.

The only concern I have is longevity with only MP... but considering that I wasn't even going to bother with it before trying it, I will at least rent it for awhile until the price is in a better range. Then if it still has a lot of people playing it, I'll
probably buy it.

My post isn't to knock the game or to say it isn't good and I appreciate everyone's view and opinions. My point is after playing for a few hours I stopped and went back to BF4. I will get this game but not day one.

To add on to what Rippen stated, my question is ...If Respawn wanted to build a new IP from scratch, why not build that new IP along with a new engine? They must've known about the next gen of consoles being in the works.

@ICN3D yes, I do think it's innovative with added elements that give this FPS a fresh feel. Just imagine they didn't add double jumps and wall-running , it wouldn't feel that much different than any other mech game. The movements are all on point and fluid
which is a great plus.

I remember when I first played HALO and was blown away on the way it ran, then HALO 2 came and it was even better, well I think you get where I'm going with this....each game came with new innovative features that changed the way you played that game and
that's exactly what Respawn did with TitanFall....they changed the game. Still, I don't feel it merits next gen acclaiment. GOW? That game took it to another level, the story, the grittiness of it and most of all...it felt personal! And that's what drove many
to play that game nonstop for days. Maybe that's what's missing from this game? Be kind my friends, it's only my opinion

 

@menace all I can think of is that licensing a new engine would have cost a lot so they used one that they already had a license to use and knew it inside out. Respawn was a risky venture to begin with. There was a really good gameinformer article about
it last year about the troubles with Activision and the team who have mortgages like most do to leave Activision and trust Vince that they would be able to get payed while still starting with nothing.id say you would keep the risk lower by sticking with what
you know

 

It has Forza 5 to beat with 1.3 million copies sold for an Xbox One exclusive. GTA V has sold 32 million copies since its release. There are about 4 million X1's sold, but I reckon on the 360 side it may sell very well, with it being only £27 on PC, it will
sell there too.

I'm still unsure as whether or not I'll buy it, but what I played was good. I've already pre-ordered the controller though!
