    Bought Xbox Live Gold, won't let me play online

    If you owed an amount but paid it off it can take up to 48 hours to clear the system. If you still are not allowed to play online by this afternoon then I would recommend contacting phone support and speak with billing to let them know the amount owing
    was paid off.

    To get back on topic, this wasn't unexpected.

    Personally I disagree with games being subscription based and having a Xbox Live Gold requirement, but the amount of people it probably hurts is more likely to be few in number. You would likely find more people with Gold subscriptions complaining about it
    than without. Which is kind of ironic because they have Xbox Live Gold anyway.
