  1. Gold won't share to my kids account

Hi, I have just set up the Xbox one S... mine is the parent account, my two childrens accounts are on it... the console is set as the home console... but the kids can't access any gold services (playing online). It keeps telling us that their privacy and
security settings aren't allowing it.... I have gone through all the settings... basically given them nearly no restrictions... yet no change...

Help me please!!!! I have now spent 2 days trying to set this up!!!! surely it i not supposed to be this difficult.

    :)

    Gold Sharing

@StudBIIJckHammer - It depends how you phrase it. You very much CAN share "Gold", which is why the XBox One setting is called "Share Gold" - Its designed very much for the way I use it. I am the only Gold account member in my family, but my wife and kids
all "Share" my Gold membership, as do my Grandkids who all now have accounts on my XBox and are defined as "my Family"

Are you saying you are trying to share one gold account on both consoles?

Sign your gold account in on your kids console then make that console your 'home console'

This will allow you to share gold with your kids accounts on that console.

Then sign in with your gold profile on your own console and you should be able to play against them

Or have you already done this and are having some other network problem?

ok so what you will want to do is sign into the parent account at account.xbox.com

click on your gamertag in the upper right corner and click on xbox settings in the drop down

click on privacy and online safety

this should bring up a page with your gamertag and your families gamertag you would click your kids gamertag

and click on the win 10 and xbox one settings and you would want to go in and change it so that they can play multiplayer games.

If you really did change your kids online and privacy settings on
    https://account.xbox.com/settings
to allow them to play online, make sure your kids sign out and back in for the changes to take effect.

Make sure that you sign in with your own adult account, and that you see your kids accounts to be selectable. Click on a kid, make the necessary changes, and save these changes before you move from one section to another (e.g. if you changed something in
the Privacy section, save that, and then go to the Windows 10/Xbox One section, make changes, save them, and go to the Xbox 360 settings).

If that doesn't work right away, try to remove the kid's accounts from the console and restart the console by holding the power button for 10 seconds. Then start the console again and download your kids' accounts again.

  6. Hi,

Thanks for this, I will give it a go later when the kids are in bed.... In the brackets at the end you said 'and go to the xbox 360 settings' but didn't explain why?

    Thanks

  7. Hi,

Ok thanks for this, I am pretty sure I have done this. But I am going to wait for the kids to go to bed later and give it a go through to make sure I have got it right.

    Thanks

I think he was just saying to make sure you save your changes before you change any of the tabs including changing to the 360 settings.

  9. Ok so I have done all of that, my account clicked on their gamer tags changed settings saved, then, removed the kids accounts from the xbox powered down, powered up added the one of the kids accounts and still get the following when trying to go online with
    a game...

To do this, change a setting

You are unable to see content that other people make because of how your account is set up. This can be changed in your privacy & online settings on xbox.com

I really don't get it, they basically don't have any restrictions at the moment on their account and they were playing fine on xbox 360 before this.

  10. So just looked through the settings on my own family accounts and this is the one that you are going to want to make sure is allowed for everyone

You can see and upload community creations

Decide whose community creations you want to see.

Blocking this may affect whether you can upload your own creations in some games.
