Gold trial membership expiring..question about Xbox360/XboxOne backwards compatibility and ...

So this is a very specific question about my current situation, and I'm hoping someone can explain to me the best way to approach this:

I have been an Xbox360 user for the last few years, and up until about 5 months ago, had a Gold Membership. I didn't renew after it expired, and I have some save files on the cloud which I never transferred to my very full 360 hard drive, as well as some
save files on the hard drive.

I just recently purchased an XboxOne which came with a two-week Gold membership trial. I have about a week left on the trial, and am trying to figure out how to go about getting my save files for as many games as possible into the cloud (whether or not they
are currently backwards compatible, in case they become compatible in the future) before the trial membership expires (since you can only access cloud storage on Xbox360 with a gold membership).

    So, here are my questions:

    1. Is it correct that on XboxOne, if I do not have a Gold membership I will still be able to access my backwards compatible game save files (and new XboxOne game save files) from the cloud, and continue saving to the cloud? I don't really understand how
the XboxOne game saving works, since it doesn't ask me where I want to save like Xbox360 does. It confuses me that documentation seems to indicate that backwards compatible games and game saves can be accessed without Gold on XboxOne, but not on the 360?

    2. A couple of the games which are now backwards compatible and are showing up in my XboxOne queue as ready for download were games that I acquired via past XBOX360 Games with Gold promotions. I know that on the 360 you can play old games with gold even
once your Gold membership expires, as long as you downloaded them during the promotion period on an active Gold account originally, but that XboxOne Games with Gold can only be played while you have an active Gold membership (unless they've changed that rule
recently). So my question is, if I have backwards compatible Xbox360 games previously acquired through Games with Gold on the Xbox360, can I continue to play them on XboxOne even if I don't have a paid Gold account? My 360 hardware is starting to die on me,
so I'm not sure how much longer I will have it and it would be cool if I could still play some of these games without it.

    3. I was thinking that I'd like to put as many of my 360 save files on cloud storage right now as possible while I still have a Gold trial access, even though currently not all of those games are backwards compatible. This is because my 360 hardware is starting
to fail and I'll probably need to retire it soon. As long as they are already in the cloud, if they become backwards compatible in the future, will I be able to start playing the save files on my XboxOne even if I don't have Gold access any more?

I realize that most of these questions can probably be solved by just purchasing a Gold membership, and maybe I will for a brief time while I get all my backwards compatible file stuff sorted out, but I'm not sure I will purchase a subscription in perpetuity
because I just wasn't really using it enough to make it worth the price (I don't do online multiplayer gaming, and once the streaming media apps didn't require Gold, I really was just using it to download an occasional Gold game that appealed to me, or pick
up a random older game for cheap with a discount).

    :)

Can you play together in same household with one gold membership?

I have one xboxone and one xbox360, on xboxone i pay for one gold membership, however, my friends account is also gold because of this.

Would their account still be gold one the xbox360 and allow us to play games online that require gold if we were to get one xbox360 copy and one xboxone copy of the game?

    Thanks.

    it's all Aack Basswards

Backward compatibility is of GREAT interest to me. Of course the future XBoxOne games will be great and will have superior graphics, no one disputes that. But we serious gamers still enjoy playing some of our classic old favorites. Backward compatibility
for playing our favorite old XBox360 games is just basic fairness, knowing that Microsoft will eventually quit producing and supporting XBox360 consoles.

Gold trial membership expiring..question about Xbox360/XboxOne backwards compatibility and ...

Backwards compatibility was added "at no extra cost" so it should still run on a free membership.

You can save all you save games to the cloud on the 360 and when you membership expires you can still copy the saves from there but you will not be able to sync back to the cloud. I think this might prevent you from saving your game progress while playing
a 360 game to the cloud. hopefully someone else can confirm/deny this.

    I cannot get online!

There's a glitch with the backwards compatibility that trials on the xbox one don't count as gold on the 360 for some reason as its a trial and not officially a membership. You should post this in black ops 2 as more people will look there or ask the support
    chat for help.
