    Gold Suspension


    I have recently come out of a 3 week admission from hospital without internet and I had originally had a 1 month gold membership which expired sometime in those weeks. When I got discharged and sent home I realised I ran out of gold and there was a promotion
    of $1 for 1 month of gold so I redeemed my Microsoft rewards for a $5 gift card to pay and then I realised I am suspended from Gold until I payed $11 for another month. Seeing as I only had $5 I went out and bought a $15 gift card and turns out I have to use
    credit card or PayPal to pay for it (which I don't have). I am slightly infuriated and I don't know what to do.

    nope, not on a billing suspension. my gold subscription is active.

    The promotion of gold for just $1 still available, but as you mentioned isn't possible to buy with a gift card:

    What i recomend you to do is to buy an xbox subscription with your gift card, a phisical xbox live card, and redeem the code.

    You may have to contact support to clear the outstanding balance to unlock your account.

    You can chat with them here support.xbox.com/contact-us choosing account in step 1 then Other in the next step for the chat option to appear.

    Do you have a gold subscription? That's usually a message related to not having gold, nothing to do with a suspension/ban.
