Gold Subscription Prematurely and Mistakenly Ended

I had a one-year prepaid subscription to Xbox Live. Last month (around 16 Feb) I logged into my Microsoft account to download the month's Games with Gold (Gears of War 2 and Styx). When I attempted to download the games I was told that my Gold subscription
has expired. Given that it was a one-year prepaid, I assumed that my subscription has indeed expired because I can't remember when exactly did I redeem the code. However, recently I was emailed by Microsoft saying that my subscription has just expired (on
March 3rd). So I was prevented from downloading my Games With Gold nearly a month before my Gold subscription had expired. This meant that I missed out on Gears of War 2, Supreme Commander (Xbox 360), Styx and Sherlock Holmes (Xbox One) because Microsoft did
not acknowledge my Gold membership. How could I re-add these games to my download queue again?

How to change subscription to alternate account?

I just purchased and Xbox Live Gold subscription, but was mistakenly in my own account when I meant to be in my son's account. How do I get this switched to his account?

Yes, the game will be yours even when the gamepass subscription has ended.

Same for Deals with Gold discounts, then game/content will remain yours if Gold subscription has ended.

Side note: Games with Gold are different though, Xbox One games obtained for free while they were the Game with Gold will only work when there is an active Gold subscription.

 

You would need to try contacting support to see if there is anything they can do. Gears 2 is the only game you would no longer be able to get for free since it is no longer a games with gold though. 1-800-4my-xbox if you're in the US/Canada or
