Gold, Silver, Bronze

Hi,

I am not sure where to post this so if I am in the wrong place maybe someone can direct me to the proper thread

I have a question about the different types of Xbox accounts there are available. My son got an Xbox recently and set up a gold account. He wants to change it to a bronze account (he says it is cheaper) but I want to know this - will changing account types
affect any of his saved games or previous purchases?

Also if possible can someone tell me or direct me to a link that explains the pros and cons of the different types of accounts?

There are only two account types available: Free, and Gold. "Free", as the name implies, is the default Xbox account type with no online multiplayer. Microsoft used to call this account "Silver". "Gold" is the only other account type that
costs money and lets you play online multiplayer.

Changing account types, either from Free to Gold, or Gold to Free, does NOT affect saved games or previous purchases. Saved games are always automatically saved to the Microsoft Cloud, which is free for all users, so as long as the Xbox stays connected to
the internet. All of your purchases are permanently linked to the Xbox account that bought them, so you can re-download at any time.
