Gold Sharing Not Transferring to Series S

Hey, I was hoping someone could help.

I recently got an Xbox Series S but seem unable to transfer my friend's Xbox Live Gold sharing to it.

I previously used an original Xbox One, set up their account with my One as the home console, and used it to access their Gamepass and Gold Membership.

When I got the Series S I deleted their account off the old Xbox One and added it to the new Series S. Now on the Series S I can access Gamepass games but am unable to use Gold to play Minecraft, Overwatch etc or download Games With Gold.

Weirder still on the old Xbox One I can still use the Gold to play Minecraft, access the Gamepass etc even though the old friend's account has been deleted off the console... I guess something hasn't transferred somewhere along the line.

Any help much appreciated, I just want to use all the sharing stuff on the new Series S.

The home console feature is meant for households with more than one console,it is not for sharing with your friends.Doing so can get you into trouble.

Do you actually have a Gold subscription on your account? It sounds as though you're using Gold through sharing on the One S which wouldn't carry over to the Series S.

If you're using an Xbox One or Series S/X, you can share the gold by setting the console as your Home console. https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-network/console/my-home-xbox

Otherwise, there is no family subscription and it's not possible to transfer the subscription to another account. You could cancel and request a refund at http://account.microsoft.com and then purchase a subscription on one of their accounts.

Gold is not transferable but you can share gold in this case, as Denis said

Hi,

Since the Series S has no optical drive you'll need to by the digital version of MCC from the Xbox Store to play in on the Series S.

You can transfer the already installed game across consoles either via a network transfer or external storage device, but you'll still need to buy the game again to play on the Series S. Transferring, copying or moving the game is often quicker than downloading the game from the Xbox Store.
