Gold prepaid code accepted but not working

I entered a 2-day trial key for XBox Gold which I got from NHL 16.

The key was accepted but right afterwards when I tried to join a multiplayer Game, I was asked to get a Gold subscription.

The key dies not show up anywhere in my history but when I entered it again, I got the message that the key had been used already.

What am I to do now or whom to contact?

I have used prepaid visa/mastercards in the past and they have worked. I never tried for a gold sub though because I would never pay full retail price for a gold sub

Yeah it's legit. Though more and more companies are starting to accept them. Should be able to buy a pre-paid subscription card from a store and use it though, that won't require a credit/debit card on file.

 

Sorry to hear it. However, a trial membership will only give some access to online Gold features and are usually limited to the game it came with. As you are attempting to access online play within the NHL game itself I did want to mention that trial codes
will not give access to ranked play.

If there is an unranked multiplayer option available in the menu give that a try.

Edit: I almost forgot. A trial membership does not show as a Gold membership at all. It just gives limited access for the time specified.

 

I tried every single online option - to no avail.

Looks like MS or EA *** me on that one :-(.

It sounds pretty weird, though, that any kind of trial period would not show up in the profile...

It doesnt change your status to gold

You can only use it with certain games but best to use non ranked matches or the game you got it with

onyx62is is right in terms of trial memberships not showing up under your profile. Xbox Live Gold trials do not give full Gold access, which is why you wouldn't see your profile as having a Gold subscription. Really sorry to hear you were having issues accessing
NHL, were you possibly able test playing online with a different game?
