    Gold Membership


    Please tell me the advantage of having a Gold Membership on Xbox 360 beginning in June.

    I purchased Gold for 1 year but with the changes being implemented on June 1st, what do I get for being a Gold Membership holder on Xbox 360?

    It appears the only advantage is to owners of the Xbox One. I just bought a new 360 so I am
    NOT going to buy an Xbox One.

    I am a mature owner of 50+ years old, so I'm not your average consumer/gamer. I got the Gold Membership to be able to access Netflix, Hulu, VEVO, etc. There are no children in my household, just 2 adults & only 1 plays with the Xbox.

    So what do I get for Gold Membership? Or should I say us owners of Xbox 360/Kinect

    My son has a gold membership on his 360. I don't have a gold membership. If I add my son's profile to my new Xbox One, then it will give me gold membership as well?

    A gold subscription will still be required to play online multiplayer and there will still be the free games each month.

    This link will provide info on the changes that are coming and what you would still have access to.

    support.xbox.com/.../live-faq

    However if, after reading the link, you decide that you would like to cancel your current membership you can click the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page and speak with support to have the unused portion of your membership refunded.

    You can only do this after the changes have taken place in early June.

    I may have to cancel the membership because I don't know any other players and I'm not into many of the games. I have a grandchild that is 3 and I am 54 so the games that are free are not age appropriate for either of us. I use Xbox for exercise with the
    Kinect, I assume that Music and Videos still cost $10.00 each per month with Gold or without so I will just cancel the membership in June. It's a shame because I just purchased the card valued for 1 year in April and it doesn't go into affect until June.
    I am too disgusted.

    no trials do not stack

    nor do they add time to gold memberships

    as gold memberships overwrite trial memberships to give you the full gold membership

    Free vault EA Access doesn't work with a trial gold membership

    Trial memberships are not proper memberships, and cannot be used for things such as Games with Gold, as well as Vault Games. Only paid Gold Memberships will give you the full features of Gold Membership.

    In the moment you convert your membership to ultimate your gold membership is included in that conversion, so if you cancel your ultimate membership you terminate your gold membership as well. In that case you should purchase xbox gold membership again.

    Although I have a XBOX Live Gold when I try to purchase NBA 2K16 it asks me to make a new subscription

    The free month with gold membership is a trial period and doesn't offers all the privileges of the paid gold membership. I suggest you to purchase xbox live gold membership to enjoy the full privileges of this membership.

    Gold Membership is the old requirement to use YouTube on the Xbox. Gold Membership is also a requirement for all apps, but some, such as Netflix, will also require a subscription with them.

    You don't actually need a 12-Month Gold Membership, any Gold Membership will do, and you can use apps like YouTube during the membership.
