Gold Membership not working on account

Hello,

Earlier in the day I used a 12 month prepaid xbox live code to reactivate xbox live. I entered the code on xbox.com and it seemed to work but my account is acting weird on my xbox one. On the main screen it still shows the Gold deal offers tab instead of
the deals with Gold tab. I seem to be able to play online but when it comes to getting deals with my gold it doesn't register that I have gold and still charges me the normal price for the game. Under my subscriptions in my account it does show that i have
a 12 month prepaid card activated and that it doesn't expire until 6/2/2017. I have tried resetting my xbox and reconnecting my wireless network but neither seemed to fix the problem. Also I have signed into my friends account on my xbox who also has gold
and everything works fine on his account, so i don't think its the xbox.

1 Gold Account for the whole family

My son has a gold membership on his 360. I don't have a gold membership. If I add my son's profile to my new Xbox One, then it will give me gold membership as well?

What you are talking about is called home gold, he'd have to be playing on the same console as the account with gold for it to work. His best bet is to just get his own gold membership and not have to worry. They're on sale on Amazon currently.

 

Try logging out of your profile and logging back in to see if that works. If not then try removing the profile from the console and then reload it. Let us know. Good Luck!

 

Yeah I got 12 month Xbox live gold membership is acting like everything is normal except I can't get the two free games a month thing. How do I fix this because I missed some pretty good games because of this

 

Like Genesis1953 said, try logging out of your account.

I recommend going onto a computer and logging into your microsoft account --->
Create your Microsoft Account Today <--- and checking to see if your account displays as gold. Your account may just need time to update.

Another option that may or may not help is clearing the xbox cache.

From Activision:

Unlike Xbox 360, the Xbox One does not have a menu option to clear cache on the console. Instead, follow these steps to clear cache on an Xbox One:

• Press and hold the power button on the front of the console until it powers down completely.
  
• Unplug the power cable from the back of the console so that the power brick in not connected to the console.
  
• Press the power button on the console three or four times. This will ensure that any remaining power in the battery is drained, clearing the cache on the console.
  
• Plug the power cable back into the console.
• Wait for the light on the power brick to change from white to orange.
• Turn on the console using the power button.

This might not work or be needed but its worth a shot and does help your xbox run smoother in the future.

If you are able to check your gold subscription online and it shows its active. Then you're all good. Its just that what you're trying to click on the dashboard is not the Games with Gold Ad. Its the Go Gold Ad which directs you to purchase gold even though
you already have gold. That's its purpose so anything you do, it will still direct you to purchase gold.

Its a random advertisement so you don't actually need to worry. It will change by time. So while its still the Go Gold Ad, you can go directly through the xbox store and download the games with gold from there. Don't limit yourselves on just clicking the
Ad from the dashboard.
