    Gold membership game download issue


    Hi.

    Hope someone can help - have activated Gold membership and also checked that the Xbox is the 'home' console. But when trying to download a free game it says we can't as it's not our home box? Is there something I'm missing?

    I'm curious of this as well.... Do you lose access to the games once your membership expires?

    Whats the best game you have gotten with gold membership?

    I have had a gold membership for as long as I can remember, and I have gotten some amazingly great games off of it. I have downloaded games like Saints Row 4, Gears of War 2, Borderlands 2 Crysis 3, etc.

    Has anyone else gotten any good games off Xbox gold membership? If so, what has been your favorite?

    Sorry to hear that you're having issues with the membership, and that you paid for it. However, trial codes (that is what a 2 day code is) are not valid Gold memberships and only offer some features of a Gold membership.

    Unfortunately downloading the free Games With Gold is not one of the features that is available with a Trial membership. In order to download those you would need to purchase and apply a full Gold membership to your account.

    I live in the USA. An example of the issue would be - If I try to download a game that is free or discounted with my gold membership, It does not allow me to proceed. It asks me to purchase a gold membership to continue.

    You need a full Gold membership to download the Games with Gold games. A trial membership will not work for that.

    If you have a current Xbox live Gold membership, and the game you're trying to download is gold free, then it is free as long as you have gold membership. I have a few games that I got for free using my gold membership.
