    Gold membership apperently gone


    Long term Gold member - old subscription ran out last month - renewed on the same day - got my confirmation mail and can see that I was billed on my bankaccount and it all worked fine up until a few days ago ( played Forza Horizon 2 online as late as friday
    )

    Now I can't play online or access my cloud saves and even more strangely can't even see my subscription on Live.com ( my nickname is also grey here on the forums )

    And before people advice me to contact support, belive me I have tried - but the Chat function is not available to me ( I'm Danish ) Support on twitter took 10 hours to reply once and haven't replied since and the Danish phone support isn't available, heck
    I've even tried Facebook - so until I get my next reply from Twitter in Odin knows how many hours that will be, all I have is this forum..

    Right now I just feel like having the bank cancel the payment and buy a prepaid year card, but if that doesn't fix it it might just make furture game purchases worse..

    So any help is VERY welcome!

    GOLD Member, Keep getting asked to "Join Xbox Live Gold"

    Got the same problem - renewed Gold just a month ago ( 7 year member ) and it worked as it always have until 2 days ago where I lost the ability to play online and started getting lots of ads about signing up for Gold..

    So apperently my entire Gold membership is gone despite having paid ( was billed and got the usual conformation mails and so on )

    Unfortunately, you will have to try working with phone support since that is the only way to get in touch with billing.

    ^if only that was an option - but it wasn't available when I tried yesterday, nor now for that matter - neither is the chat function - so after no luck on either Twitter nor Facebook, this forum is supposedly all I got when it comes to support.. and after
    2 days no luck here either...

    Anyways don't mind my frustration - I appreciate your help - cheers.. ( I just wish I could actually get in contact with someone from MS that doesn't just say I should use an alternative way and instead spend a few seconds actually doing some support work..

    It really can't be all that hard to see that I resubscriped, that they mailed me and billed me and that my Gold membership dissapeared a few days ago without warning.. all I want is to be able to access my saves and play my games..

    Long story short - my problem seems solved Gold membership apperently gone :)

    I finally got the oppotunity to get in contact with MS phone support - that worked by requesting a call from them rather than calling one self ( ??? ) - I did so and after a few minutes of pressing numbers I got in touch with a heavily accented lady who
    sounding like she was talking to me from the other side of the planet through a gardenhose and 1min into the call she either hung up or the connection was lost - weeeeeee lol

    So I tried to request a call system again, only to get an error message that I couldn't do that so soon again ( wtf ??? )

    So I found a number instead and called that only to be told be a prerecorded voice that one could not call that number using a mobile phone ( again wtf ??? does anybody even have landlines in this age )

    So I looked deeper and found another number and wee I got through to a nice Danish speaking worker that sounded clear and was very helpful, eventhough he had some computer issues ( I'm guessing they also use Windows lol )

    Turns out that my Live account had somehow gotten two financial accounts - my old 360 one and a new one with my Xbox One ( something I never noticed as it all worked as it used to until last week ) and somehow it had switched from one to the other and thus
    didn't see I was a gold member anymore despite having just paid a year in advance.

    He cancelled my prepaid year and mailed me codes with the 11 months I had left and they are now working on the account that my xboxes use - so all is well

    ( I can see my name here is still grey, but luckily I'm Gold on the consoles and profile where it matters Gold membership apperently gone :) )

    So anyone with a similar issue - I strongly suggest you login into account.live.com and check that it hasn't made two payment accounts as it had with me

    It's kinda crazy that I had to spend so much time and so many ways to simply get in touch with an actual support worker ( have been trying since sunday ) but atleast now it's solved.. for the moment Gold membership apperently gone :)

    Sounds like local profile corruption. I'd start by clearing the system cache (it's just temporary files plus game updates, automatically reloaded) by:

    1) Tap the silver Xbox Guide button on the controller, go 2 clicks right to Settings, pick System Settings.

    2) Select Storage (or Memory if Storage).

    3) Move over any hard drive or memory unit (not the Cloud) & press (Y) on your controller & pick Clear System Cache.

    4) When asked to confirm storage device maintenance, choose Yes.

    Delete profile from your console

    1) go to www.xbox.com/accounts & click on Sign in at upper right - if you can't sign in then
    STOP: DON'T delete your profile. Please call Xbox Support

    2 for help with your account. If you can sign in, delete & redownload your profile on your Xbox this way:

    2) Go to Settings

    3) pick System

    4) choose Storage

    5) pick All Devices

    6) choose Gamer Profiles

    7) pick the gamertag

    8) choose Delete, and

    9) pick Delete Profile Only. This deletes the profile but leaves saved games and achievements. Now, re-download your profile.

    Re-download

    1) Tap the silver Xbox Guide button

    2) Select Download Profile (and if you don't see it, press the blue X button to make sure you're not signed in) and proceed with Profile Download.

    3) Enter the Microsoft Account addresse for your Xbox LIVE gamertag when asked.

    4) Enter the password for the Microsoft Account.

    4A) If your account is an Xbox LIVE child account, the parent’s Windows Live ID & password is required as well to download your profile.

    5) Pick the storage device for your profile (choose Hard Drive if you have one, or Memory Unit if you don't have a Hard Drive).

    6) When the download completes you will be asked if you want the console to remember your password. If it's your home console, I'd say yes, otherwise I'd think carefully about leaving my profile unprotected on somebody else's
    Xbox!

    7) Sign in, and retry.
