Gold membership and language matter

Hi!

I am living in France, but I want to play my game in English, so my setting on my xbox-one is region located in UK. Basically, when I chose my region in France, there's no choice of language, I can only use French.

I have renewed my gold membership, I bought it here in France, so I renewed it (When I renew, as I buy the code from the local game shop, I change the setting back to France to use the code), and put my setting back to UK setting again, my membership is
not renewed...

I just want to play games in English! Please let me know if anyone has any information to play games in English in France!!! (without changing the region)

Do you also need to have gold membership to watch TV on your TV through xbox one on TV?

I know that gold membership is needed to watch netflix and any other app for such matter.

 

1 Gold Account for the whole family

My son has a gold membership on his 360. I don't have a gold membership. If I add my son's profile to my new Xbox One, then it will give me gold membership as well?

 

Hi Alice!

If you want to change your language to English on the Xbox One console, you will want to go to
Settings - All Settings - System (fourth section down) - Language and Location (Second Tile from the left) here you can change the language on the top drop down to the desired language and also the language region on the second drop down box.

After doing this restart your console for the changes to be made! If you are still having problems be sure to reply!

I am afraid to say, when you chose the region in France, you only have 'French' in the language choice. That is why I always have to change my region into UK (or I can chose another region in English spoken area) to play in English.

If you think it's strange, please just try to change the region into France, you can only chose French for the language.

So, I do hope there's another solution, please...!!!!

After researching this problem of yours and further testing it on my console, I have found that at this time it cannot be changed, however the good news is that if you visit

Xbox User Voice Here then you will find a post from the community with thousands of votes regarding this! You will also see a reply from an Official Staff Member; Mister Retr0 saying that this is in progress to change!

Picking a language different from you region is something we have in the preview dash at the moment so when the next dash update goes public it will be available.

No date as to when that is but it is coming.

 

I was curious why it was working for myself, thanks Badger, the only option Alice then is getting a friend to invite you the Program, however acceptance is not 100% guaranteed.

 

Yeah,by the time they'd be accepted the new update will be public anyway,that's if they were accepted.

And thank you so much for the information!!!

I spoke with my Xbox friend and told me that the next August will have a big update, so I am keeping my fingers crossed for solving the language problem for this.

Currently, my membership is still under UK till 20th, but I have already redeemed the code for next gold membership in region France, so if i were lucky, I just have to hear my battleborn characters talking in French a little while (Because 2K games in
French... I can't stand it!)
