Gold join Ultimate (without the $1)

Hey guys

Sadly, i probl used the $1 last year. Because i don't play a lot, i cancelled it after 2 months.

Now, my son is at the age where he can start playing, and i wanted to introduce him to Mincraft. So i bought 2 years of gold yesterday, just to read somewhere today that the $1 will convert the regular gold to ultimate. But i can't find anywhere information
about what if i join ultimate $14.99. Will that also convert the gold to ultimate at 1:1 ratio, or based on the conversion table i would get only 8months?

I found out about this today. I can cancel probably 1 year of subscription, but 1 year was added via a code, so that is not refundable. Is there any way i can cancel or transfer these 2 years to a new account and take advantage of that offer?
