Gold code redeemed but still on Silver

Hi,

I just redeemed two separate 48-hour Xbox Live Gold codes, one on my Xbox One and one on my Xbox 360. Both times the Xbox said my code was accepted. However, my profile is still Silver and so I cannot access cloud storage on my Xbox 360.

I redeemed gold membership but it still says silver

I just tried to send a message on xbox.com but it won't let me because I do not have gold membership. Well that's what it says. The problem is, I redeemed a code for gold membership, but it still says silver. Can you help me?

I'm XL Gold, but it says Silver.

I redeemed an Xbox LIVE Gold code, and it worked. Now i can play online but it still says that I'm silver, and I can't use XL Gold servicies...

What should I do?

(I'm from Italy, if this could help.)

Hi CasualKitten207,

Trial codes does not make you a gold member so your options are limited. Only the 1 month trial makes the account a gold member so if you redeem 2 days, 7 or 14 days trial, your account will still remain silver.

It appears that you still have a silver account, not gold which is what is needed to access X Box LIVE. What codes did you redeem?

Free Gold weekend allows you to do the stuff a gold member can,

To get Gold Member status you will need to Redeem a 1, 3, or 12 month code card.

Normally you are restricted access to certain things based on your account type.

Silver being the free one and having certain restrictions on demos and apps, Gold being Premium and giving you free range.

There is a chance that you might have redeemed your code and try to access these restricted sections right away and this would still give you the same messages you would have seen as a Silver member. Whenever you are Silver and you redeem a code that gives
you Gold access, you will have to reset your console in order for the change to take affect.

If this is the account you're trying to use, it's still showing you as a silver/free member. You may want to try going to
https://billing.microsoft.com to see if it shows the gold subscription being redeemed. If it doesn't show up, try redeeming the code again.
