Going overseas

Hopefully buying only "US" subscriptions/currency while I am gone will keep me and my kids in the same virtual "region", and not force us to lose any downloaded games we have purchased.

When we were in Germany on 360 launch, we used a converter/transformer fine, but they run expensive in the long run, would rather just shell out on a new brick. Never been a big online player, so never really tried the gold thing while there. Now though
I will be in Korea while they are in the UK for a year and know I can get them to communicate with me if we are playing a game.

1. The subscription should run as normal, however it is possible to migrate your account if you do not have any local currency stored. Special offers that are available in the US may not be available in Korea and the UK and vice versa.

2. It is not likely that you would be able to temporarily suspend your subscription, if I remember I will double check tomorrow.

1. Yes, though it may have a worse experience than at home depending on if the console immediately realizes that you're far away or not.

3. I believe all you'll need is a new brick, I've heard that you definitely shouldn't use converters.

On number 2, you can't so much pause your subscription, but you can ask to cancel your account and have them send you a code for the remaining time, rounded down to the nearest month. The code shouldn't expire, so effectively it will pause your time.

If you ever been deployed you know that people usually buy their systems overseas and then bring them back. HOW IS ANYONE GOING TO ACTIVATE A XBOX OVERSEAS?!
