    Going from Game Pass Ultimate to Xbox Live Gold


    So some context first, for the past several years, I was paying for the 12-month Xbox live gold, with recurring billing on, until I had decided to convert it to game pass ultimate. My account shows my last payment for Xbox live gold was on 6/29/19 and subsequently converted to Game Pass Ultimate. After my trial was over, I paid the $45 every 3 months for Game Pass Ultimate.

    I recently decided to cancel game pass ultimate and just pay for regular Xbox live again; however, it would not let me cancel game pass ultimate until my subscription expired, which was 1/27/21 (yesterday). So before 1/27 came around, I made sure to turn off recurring billing so that I would not get charged again on 1/27, and I didn't. Now, my account indicates that game pass has expired; however, If I go on my series X, I still have access to Xbox live services / online gaming.

    So ultimately, my question is, if I'm no longer paying for Xbox live or game pass ultimate, how do I still have access to live? Does game pass ultimate automatically revert to Xbox live gold once it is canceled? Any help would be appreciated. I could technically purchase another 12-month Xbox live card, but I wouldn't want to do that if I somehow still have access to Xbox live right now.

    In this case the system will give a equivalent of the months that you have from the Xbox Live Gold to Xbox Live Game Pass Ultimate.

    Remember its better to already have the Xbox Live Gold then change, that have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and then redeem the Xbox Live Gold.

    Hi,

    Once you upgraded to Xbox game pass ultimate, your Xbox live gold will be carried over to Xbox game pass ultimate. For example, if you have Xbox live gold for a year and you upgraded it to Xbox game pass ultimate, your Xbox live gold and xbox game pass for
    console and PC will also be good for 13 months (12 months Xbox live gold+1 month upgrade Xbox game pass Ultimate). If you cancelled the Xbox game pass ultimate, automatically your Xbox live will also be cancelled since it is already merged to the Ultimate.
    You need to contact Xbox Support to reinstate your lost membership.

    No Jay. Game pass is separate from Xbox live gold and ultimate which is both game pass and gold. You need Xbox live gold to play online multiplayer games.
