    glitching screen - black squares


    i've been having an issue on my xbox one s on alot of games, (both digital and disk games) where there has been black squares flashing all over the screen and eventually blacking out the whole screen.

    it is also strange because some of the in game menus work fine.

    this glitch is making it impossible to play certain games although some work fine. i also think this glitch is different to "the black screen of death" or whatever

    i spent ages looking online for a solution but i couldn't find one anywhere, would very appreciate some help

    Hey there TommyButterton,

    Thanks for reaching out to the Forums for advice on how to hopefully get your console to stop your console from behaving like that. I can totally understand how this sort of this could be distressing. I recommend trying a soft factory reset of the
    console. It's a reset of your console back to factory settings but one that does not uninstall any of your games or apps and is a really good troubleshooting step for most issues.

    When ou get the chance, follow the steps here on
    How to reset your console to factory defaults on Xbox One    , select the option denoted reset and keep my games & apps and let us know how that helps with the issue .

    im fairly sure thats an issue with your HDMI cable or port so i dont know how to help you with that one

    and it is a different issue to what i was talking about earlier

    I did the exact steps and my xbox was on and my TV said no signal and i did it again the same thing happened
