Glitch/Exploit to Watch Dogs 2 - If redeemed, will account be banned or game revoked?

Hello, I am inquiring for a friend on an issue where a friend of hers informed her that there was a free code to Watch Dogs 2 going around. She's new to Xbox and thought it was genuine. She redeemed the code on her app while out and didn't know it was an
exploit until she got home and her father told her it could get her banned. She's not even played any games on her account yet as it's meant for Christmas. I've looked into this code that's being spread through the internet in forums and Facebook, etc. And
it seems loads of people have downloaded it and some already playing. My friend is in distress as she didn't know it was a bad thing and is now worried as if to she'll get her account banned. I've tried to reassure her that as it's a glitch to do with redeeming
the code, and that so many have done it, the game will just be revoked and unplayable (even though she hasn't installed it.) But, it's best to know what course of action will be taken. She's been crying her eyes out as it's a Christmas gift that her father
spent a fair bit on, and she hasn't even used her account yet.

Any information on this matter would be very helpful, thank you.

The code that is going around for it is [ mod removed] Hopefully , it will just be revoked as a ban across to everyone who installed it would cause a massive uproar.

why are they allowed to get away with it.

The people out side the map won't be banned. Those exploits have been in the game since the start, they're pretty crap glitches.

No one here can say for sure as the enforcement team don't use the forums but last time something similar happened the games licence was revoked so the people who downloaded it lost access to the game.

Yes but that was a glitch/exploit and people got banned/reset for doing it.

You didn't by any chance gain them by the exploiting the 160 MS points / 48-hour code glitch (the glitch allowed 160 point codes to be generated)? The reason I ask, is that 6880 divided by 160 is 43 (potentially 43, 160 point codes used to redeem 6880 points).
If you did exploit the glitch, Microsoft is redeeming the points received from exploiting the glitch. I was reading an article the other day and it quoted Microsoft saying that anyone who gained from the glitch, will have the points taken off of them eventually.

If it's a "glitch" and you knowingly exploit it on purpose it could definitely result in a ban.

Well done Mr Holmes, you are a true adversary. I think I total I had around 15,000? Not the most I've had. I once had around 19,000 thanks to Littlewoods and their £35 codes.

I was just upset I couldn't buy From Dust when it hits XBL.

And Microsoft said they would only ban people who had previous records on their accounts.
