Did you attempt to help him? No, all you did was start trying to define his phrase and insist everybody else follow your definition. I guess if what he wanted was to try and get people to follow your definition of his phrase, then you helped him.

I don't even think he wants help. He says it won't load and won't connect to the internet, then says he will NOT call support and plans on dumping his supposedly broken X1 on some "sucker". So instead of calling for help, or returning the device for exchange,
he plans on ripping off somebody else by selling it to them. Why don't you buy it if you want to help this fine individual out?

Wait a sec. Aren't most HDTV's 1080i?

I don't even know what I have apart from its a 50" LCD HDTV. Surely not having it support 1080i is worse than selling it with Kinect?

Most support 1080i these days but 1080p is considered the standard.

My old set, a Sony Bravia, only reached 1080i. This meant my One would only display at 720p on it.

PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, all support 1080i but Microsoft for some reason decided that they didn't want people to have that option.

BizarroMantis, I don't think anybody berated him. I am certainly no X1 fan boy, I've not bought one myself because of several things I don't like about it. As far as the OP, he made it clear that not only doesn't he want help, but he's willing to cheat somebody
else by selling his defective X1 to them. I don't think a few jokes about his phrase "a month of Sundays", is berating him.

Maybe I didn't try and help him because I don't have the knowledge base to help with the particular issue(s) he was complaining of, but yes, I did try and help by creating a more open atmosphere for him to ask, comment, or even just complain in. No, he
didn't specifically ask for help. Sounded to me like he was pretty frustrated and wanted/needed to vent a little. That doesn't mean he wouldn't have taken constructive advice, and maybe even been thankful, if given. Oh, and I won't be buying his X1, in
part, because I already have one.

@Mantis- Not surprised at all, unfortunately. I've been around the forums as long as most of the regulars, maybe longer (just not always posting), so I've seen what it's like.

Never had a problem with my Xbox one, must of gotten a bad unit, call Microsoft and get a replacement.

No matter how you want to define the phrase, the twenty minutes or less it takes to set up an X1 out of the box can hardly be considered a long time.

As far as the phrase itself goes, there is no set definition on it. I gave you the original meaning, but there are several more. it's open to interpretation. Some people take it to mean four weeks as most months have four Sundays, others take it to mean
30/31 Sundays as a month has that many days (or 217 days).

Regardless the debate is irrelevant as the only one getting bogged down in it is you, just because other people don't define the undefined phrase the same way you do. Regardless I'm done discussing it now.

Have you guys not heard the phrase "a month of Sundays"? It doesn't literally mean any set period of time. It just means "a long time". Old timey slang, like my grandparents would use.

One time I deleted all my games, factory reset the console, poured water on it and sent it in for repair. It didn't take a month of Sundays to get it back from MS, so I doubt it took you longer to just set the console up.
