I figured it out, the OP ate a months worth of Ice Cream Sundaes while setting up the X1.

 

Worst part of setting up our One was finding out that it doesn't support 1080i. Perfect excuse for a shopping trip for a new 3DTV.

 

Man xbox ones dashboard is so difficult to deal with, you can go left or right. Aaaah I just can't comprehend it. I know what it will do I'll sell it and get a PS4.

My Xbox One does perfectly what you said your's doesn't. It certainly didn't take even an hour to set up, my Xbox is connected to the Internet constantly, and all of my games load just fine.

 

One time I deleted all my games, factory reset the console, poured water on it and sent it in for repair. It didn't take a month of Sundays to get it back from MS, so I doubt it took you longer to just set the console up.

 

Have you guys not heard the phrase "a month of Sundays"? It doesn't literally mean any set period of time. It just means "a long time". Old timey slang, like my grandparents would use.

 

Actually it refers to how in the old days Sundays were boring to many people because there was no drinking or liquor sales on Sundays. So a month of Sundays would literally mean four or five boring days in a row.

 

It hasn't been used literally like that in a very long time. It simply means "a long time" these days. Feel free to search for it on the internet to verify like I just did.

Wait a sec. Aren't most HDTV's 1080i?

I don't even know what I have apart from its a 50" LCD HDTV. Surely not having it support 1080i is worse than selling it with Kinect?

 

I feel it's relevant to the topic because people were getting so bogged down in thinking he said something he didn't, that his actual message was obscured. In my opinion, that happens a little too often around here, and is likely one of the reasons why
new posters don't seek help more often, for fear of being berated over things they might not have actually been saying.

 

No matter how you want to define the phrase, the twenty minutes or less it takes to set up an X1 out of the box can hardly be considered a long time.

As far as the phrase itself goes, there is no set definition on it. I gave you the original meaning, but there are several more. it's open to interpretation. Some people take it to mean four weeks as most months have four Sundays, others take it to mean
30/31 Sundays as a month has that many days (or 217 days).

Regardless the debate is irrelevant as the only one getting bogged down in it is you, just because other people don't define the undefined phrase the same way you do. Regardless I'm done discussing it now.

 

It matters quite a bit that people got bogged down by that. And no, it wasn't me, I only commented well into the second page after many others had already had their fun with it. Now, it matters, because you say it takes twenty minutes out of the box, fine.
If someone thinks he's saying it took weeks, everyone assumes troll. If it took a couple of hours, there might be an issue with the steps he followed, his console, or something along those lines, and suggestions could be made and he could be helped. This
is still listed under "support", regardless of the forum type. So, was he actually helped? Any real attempt made?
