Given all the massive ups and downs since launch what is your current rating of the Xbox one?

Why not? Brighten someones day! Maybe a friend who would enjoy it? A donation to a children's hospital? How about a V.A. hospital? With a rating of 3.5 out of 10 it obviously holds no value to you...just sits there "boxed up"...mocking you!!! Lol. ;-)

I give it a strong 8

I am very happy with my Xbox One. I just wish developers were making more new games. I have had enough of the remakes were going into our second year. There should be lots of new IP's and new games and not tons of indie and remake games.

 

I give it a solid 6, Slightly positive given that I'm a gamer.

The community is still good, even though this gen has made many many trolls appear, I look at my friends list and almost everyone is still there and active.

Slightly positive because of 2 exclusives, DR3 and Sunset Overdrive

I don't need to Microsoft to tell me "What kind of a gamer" I am, just to encourage me to buy some game

Halo MCC, This games multiplayer option has driven me insane, Last night after being de-ranked again, I switched the machine off. Isn't Halo Xboxes big ticket item? I guess I've lost allot of respect with this game release. It's not Microsofts fault! I can
hear you scream. There is a level of responsibility whether you like it or not.

It's just a gaming console, I wouldn't give the immediate competition a higher score.

My favorite console this Gen is the Wii U

 

Never liked Halo multi-player, though I was going to buy it just for the campaign. After reading a couple reviews and hearing from a few people about losing progress on saves, I lost interest; maybe pick it up later. One does have to wonder how a flagship
game got released in such a state.

D33dles, I finished Halo CE and It only froze once much to my surprise. It's just the MP for me, any other game would be fine, but this is and Exclusive Exclusive, yes I said that twice. In my mind, this so far was the biggest risk taker and it left the
punters like myself feel a bit deflated.

UI? Console Features? I'm Neutral with this, I'm just a gamer

BTW, I loved the 360 but I'd still only give it a 7

 

Since it was questioned earlier in regards to a "low score" not posting "reasons" (lol as if Opinion needs validation) sure I'll elaborate to why my Score for the Xbox One is 7 (should be a 6.5).

The UI is terrible. It works from Voice but finding something manually is just a terrible experience. Is it here, is it there, where is it? Its over all a very poor design where most Items are placed. If it was a UI in a Game it would be unforgivable.

Which brings us to the next point. The Voice Commands. They are great when they work but absolutely frustrating when it doesn't. I don't want to yell at my TV nor should there be any reason for it. Before anyone says "recalibrate it". I have many, many, many,
many times. I've tried it with every spectrum of Sound possible from the super quiet to the blasting so loud my neighbors call the cops. It doesn't work as well as it should and lack fidelity.

The Kinect for Gesture. wow what a broken piece of garbage. People don't Game in that pretend living-room world that is always shown. My Xbox One is approximately 4 feet away from where I sit from my TV. I'm not moving my house around so Kinect can work.

The constant crashes in Apps and Games. The Errors and all the notices of "try later" or "an error occurred", way too many problems. The Lock-ups and over-all Bugs that are everywhere in the System. Oh look, IE crashed again, oh look the Keyboard Menu is stuck
open again, oh look, it turned itself back on again, oh look "it took to long to open". Ya think...

And the icing on the cake is it is so slow. I mean the 360 had issues as well but at least it finally opened whatever you were trying to do. The Xbox One you get that spinning little wheel forever and then the wonderful message "The App took to long to open".
Insult to injury.

Believe me when I say I am being generous in giving it a 7 (or don't).

Personally I'll give it an 7. I think the best console ever released was the Playstation 2, purely because of it's massive library of quality and varied games.

As a non Kinect user (I actually sold mine on eBay because I rarely found myself using it) I think the UI could do with a little cleaning up. Pins make it easier for me to get to most content I use but there's still room for improvement.

I also think Microsoft needs more variety of games and new exclusives. They need to stop relying on old franchises and remastered games to carry them forward and start focusing on creating more new franchises. I think Titanfall is the only noteworthy exclusive
I have played on the Xbox One so far.

Lastly I think their controller build quality, compared to the Xbox 360 controller, is pretty lacklustre. I've been through quite a few since launch from several dull bumper buttons to the left thumbstick being permanently depressed. I also find there always
feels to be a slight delay in aiming in a lot of FPS games which really puts me off playing FPS on Xbox One (COD: Advanced Warfare being the last notable game that I experienced this). I think Titanfall is the only game where it seems rock solid.

It has improved massively from launch. Here's hoping we see more improvements through 2015.

 

So a 2/10 from a guy who doesn't have it (thanks for nothing) a '-24' for being 'atrocious' (thanks for just slightly more than nothing) and someone who says it's a 3.5 but his PS4 is a 10/10 because the difference between 900P and 1080P is apparently 'huge'
but he really doesn't know much because his Xbox One is all boxed up.... uh, ok. (For what it's worth, I don't take the 11/10 review as being particularly valuable either, but at least there's positivity there, so in this case he's at least making the world
a better place).

The only decent critical review is LostKauz, though I mostly disagree with the assessments given... and that score was a 7 anyway.

Me? I'm leaning to an 8. The console has really changed the way I view all media in my house, which is out and out amazing. (The value of the Kinect as an IR blaster is far and away worth the extra money to get one for anyone who cares about that sort of
thing).

My negatives, though are: First and foremost, I still don't have an Xbox One game that I like as much as my top games on 360. This is to be expected though, the One is still new and mostly has a really good libary for it's first year. Talk to me this time
next year when I'm playing Batman: Arkham Knight and my views might have changed.

Second, I really wish the original vision for Kinect being in every box had been stuck to. I just know some of the advancements we could be seeing aren't going to be there now that there are so many non-Kinected boxes out there.

Third, plenty of stuff that still needs tweaking. Not that this is a big shock, either, though. Just like 360 kept needing updating, so does the One. The speed of advancements on the One, though, is killing it compared to any other console in the connected
era of consoles.

Overall, I'm very happy with it, though. Just need a few more titles to come out (Arkham Knight, Rainbow Six: Siege, a new Splinter Cell [please Ubisoft!], and a remaster of Assassin's Creed II/Brotherhood [please again, Ubisoft!]) and I'll finally be able
to put my 360 out to pasture.

 

For me it would be a solid 7.

The resume where you left off feature is good but all too often it resumes without sound, meaning I have to quit and restart.

I love using the Kinetic to get around the system but sometimes I just don't want to talk to my console, controller navigation does need to be tightened up.

The UI also feels a little disjointed. On the 360 everything felt like part of the same UI, on the One it feels like everything is separate from everything else.

As to the controller I like the new thumb sticks, hated those raised bumps on the 360, but the overall shape and the triggers feel worse.

Overall though its the games that keep the console as high as it is. In the end that is the most important thing.

 

Not sure what horrid start you are talking about, its been a solid console since it released and have had a blast playing it. Only thing I think they could have done better on is not releasing with Kinect but hey they solved that just wish I didnt have to
pay more for something I dont use but its a minor grip really.

 

@CrimzonRazor The totally botched launch with the DRM which put such a bad tastes in peoples mouths it hurt their outlook among people for quite a long time. Yeah they removed it all but the initial promotion of it all really hurt their image. Also the
initial 100+$ higher price and the opt for lower hardware specs to shoehorn in Kinect. They have come back with insane force since then however and are doing much better.

It's a shame that some people seem to be rating the console on what was launched over a year ago.

Even DF has said that Xbox games appear to be better now, and they can't understand.

I still think there are bugs to be ironed out, but with monthly updates it's bound to be a app developers nightmare. For the sheer amount of updates the UI (which I love) and exceeding parity with third party games I give it a 8.5

I'd give it a 8.5 too, the UI is slow for me - think that's my one big issue. Also I'd like to see 4K support (for videos, before all the idiots start off on one about hardware capability etc.).

 

Here is why I give it a 11/10. I bought the X1 and PS4 to play games. Both do so very well. The X1 got the 11 from me for going above and beyond; voice controls work 99% of the time and are very intuitive, Skype is a great way to see my brother and other
family members, and a good selection of apps I use. The reason I gave the PS4 a 9/10? The U.I.. While better than the PS3, it still isn't to my liking.

I put my X1 in Energy Saver 2 days after setting it up and it has been FLAWLESS ever since.

Gesture controls-Work good, but voice is faster. Still fun to play around with sometimes.

Voice controls-99% spot on. The only time they fail is if someone is talking over the person giving the command or I've got my mouth full.

Kinect-Multiple microphones, high quality camera. I use Skype way more than I did with my phone or computer.

User interface-With Kinect it's very intuitive and easy to navigate. Without Kinect pins are your friends.

Could the X1 be better? Of course, though keeping everyone happy isn't going to happen. My 11/10 score stands for this reason,"I bought a game console and got so much more.".
