Gifting Xbox one Games for Xmas

Hello, thanks for taking the time to read my question!

I bought my brother an Xbox one on Black Friday which I will be giving him on Christmas

I would like to buy some games for him so that he can jump right into it. However, there are awesome deals on the Xbox digital store right now.

Is there any way to take advantage of those great prices by buying those digital copies, but not letting him know I bought them until xmas?

Like if I gift it to his gamertag or email obviously he will know as soon as I do it.

Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

This is a fun idea but there isn’t a way to stealth in some games in this remote delivery fashion without their knowledge! If he’s never had a Microsoft account you could create one for him and gift said games to that account!

 

Buy them on disk and keep them because digital cant be done

You could buy all the games on your account and simply sign into his xbox on christmas day and download the games. Then both of you will have them. Aslong as you are still on the console (you dont need to be signed in) your account just has to be on it.

You should checkout how to set a home xbox too. Thats also handy

Hi, one additional suggestion- Xbox typically has a yearly "Countdown" sale that starts just before Christmas and lasts through at least the end of the year. The last couple of years, it's also had a massive number of titles available at a discount, similar
in quantity to the Black Friday sale. I think it's a pretty safe bet that there will be another such sale this year announced shortly before Christmas. That said, while there are usually a huge number of games on sale during the Countdown sale, if you're
looking for a specific game that's on sale during the current Black Friday sale, there's no guarantee that it will be on sale during the Countdown sale too. If you just want to get him started with a few great games that happen to be on sale, though, it might
be worth it to wait until this sale. Hope that helps!
